11 Years Later and Back At It! DJs Indoor Tent Grow

Hello All,

It has been quite some time since I’ve posted here... almost 11years later to be exact. Many of you helped me out when I attempted a stealth Autoflower grow in my closet while I was a senior in HS. Just a bunch of CFLs, a fan, and we were off. I learned a lot, had a fun of fun, and was able to enjoy the final product. It was just an awesome experience all around and I’m ecstatic to be back at it again.

With that being said, here are my plans for the near future in terms of growing...

I’m anxiously awaiting GSC, NL, Super Lemon Haze, WW, and Orange Sherbet (all autos - not sure why I chose this route but maybe cause it seemed more simple.)

Set Up:

- Opulent Systems 2x3x5 Grow Tent

- 4” AC Infinity Fan

- 4” AC Infinity Carbon Filter

- SF1000 LED Full Spectrum Light (starting here then may add supplement lights if advised)

Medium:

- 1:1 Mix of FF Happy Frog and FF Ocean Forest

- 4:1 Soil to Perlite

- Maybe another additive not sure yet

I plan on germinating with the paper towel method and then plant into solo cup until ready for the 5 gal smart pots I’m gonna use.

Haven’t decided on nute schedule or anything yet but I know I’m gonna wait at least 3 weeks due to the FFOF tending to run a little bit hot.

Definitely 2 at a time, not sure if I can get away with three without adding more light.

Hope I didn’t miss anything and excited to share the journey with y’all!

-DJ

Oh and since I’m waiting on those beans, I attempted to germinate 5 seeds I’ve accumulated in bags over since 2015. 3 seem to want to try and give it a go! Surprised since they all have to be about 3-5 years old

Sounds good. You will also need a couple of ph pens and a TDS/PPM meter. I prefer the 6 ft. tall tent because I would run out of room in a 5 ft. , so LST for sure. You will also need a small fan (I use a 6 in. Hurricane fan) to blow on plants. Good luck to you.

P.S. I would advise you use 3 gal. pots instead of 5 gallon because of the short tent(5 ft.) and the weak light. You will want to grow small plants and the 5 gal. will grow big plants. Just saying; I only have a few grows behind me but I have watched many, many Youtube videos on the subject. lol. My brother and I grew the exact same plants, same food, tent type (2'x4') , everything was the same except he used 5 gal. buckets and a weaker light and he ran out of ceiling on a 6 ft. high tent and I didn't in my 3 gal. pots and 240 watt hlg light. Good luck again.

The only reasons I wasn’t too worried about the height was due to the fact that they are all Autoflowers hopefully won’t get that high and I was definitely planning on LSTing the girls for sure.

I opted for 5 gal pot as research I did shown higher yields. Maybe to experiment I’ll do one of each, 3 and 5 gal pot.
Thanks for the input! I’ll be needing advice throughout so all is welcomed!

The adventure begins! I obtained beans in the mail just about 1.5 weeks ago, germinated via paper towel method and currently sitting in solo cups filled with straight FF happy frog soil.
Here are pics of everything set up and the girls so far. I upped the ducting, filter, and fan all to 6”.
Auto White Widow from Seedman is the larger one at the moment.
The one with small yellowing first set of leaves is Auto Girl Scout Cookies from Gassin. Any idea what’s going on with the slight yellowing?

GSC showing signs of recovery. Wonder if even the HF from fox farms is a little too hot for her. Anywho, WW looks good and is shooting it’s leaves out.

I understand I messed up on not putting them in final container. That’s something I will do from now on. Any advice on transplanting what I have? Wait longer or do it ASAP?

Germinated and planted two Orange Sherbets. One of them is going to a friend so I’ll have a total of 3 plants.
I know I’m going to need to add more lights. My question for any followers is more geared towards advice on my best options.
I have a 2x4x5 and plan on 2-3 plants at a time. Going to stick with auto flowers in this tent. I currently have a Spyder Farmer SF1000.
Let me know what you think my best options are for budget and also quality.

Transplanted the WW and I think she’s accepting it quite well.
Soil: 3:1 HF:OF (Fox Farms)
Medium: 4:1 Soil: Perlite

I watered her with a very much diluted Kangaroots Root Drench (30% recommended strength).

Things seem to be moving. Will add another SF1000 to the tent in the next week.

Here’s a quick update:
Moved them all into their final homes. WW is loving her home. I just did the GSC and Orange Sherbet last night before they went to bed so hopefully we will see how they do over the next few days.
A buddy of mine stopped over with a bunch of germed Norther Lights. I popped one in the 5 gal fabric pot and it’s already opening up nicely.
Before anyone points out the obvious... I have a SF2000 arriving on Wednesday to join the 1000 and hopefully that should suffice for this grow.

Having BioBizz Bio Grow on hand and am thinking of starting the WW on it soon albeit a very low concentration.

Another Update:

Got the SF2000 in yesterday and boy is that thing nice for it’s price. Excited to see how the rest of the grow will go now as the lovely WW has really grown in the last 12 hours since I hooked it up. Only thing left is to understand how the additional light will affect the temps in the tent. Hopefully over the next day or so I’ll be able to get a grasp on that. I ordered an Inkbird Temp and Humidity controller that I’m planning on using as well.

I’ve been giving all 4 girls a very low dose of Kangaroots Root Drench (25-30% strength) every other watering and they all seemed to take their transplants very well. I just gave the WW a mix of the root drench, FF Big Bloom, and BioBizz BioGrow all at 25% strength with its watering this morning.

Anywho here’s some pics.
WW Day 14
GSC Day 14
OS Day Day 8
NL Day 5

always looking for advice, positive criticism and ways to learn more!

WW (Day 18 is showing some oddish coloring. I’m wondering what’s going on with her. Anyone have ideas? She’s the first pic. Some of the leaves look a little funny to me. Could it be pH problem? meter I bought seems to be faulty as it never read anything other than 7.0.

Obtained temp and humidity controllers end of last week. Current readings are around 78degF and 58%.

White Widow: Day 20
GSC: Day 20
Orange Sherbet: Day 14
Northern Lights: Day 11

Interesting to see how each plant is taking to the same processes and methods. Plants also don’t seem to be stretching that much. Lights on with dimmer set to 75ish% and hanging at 24”. 20/4 light cycle.

Let me know what you think!

On second thought probably just the light it actually only pulls 100 watt from the wall which isn't really alot at all now that I've re read your thread I see you added another light, what distance are they from the plant

About 24”. Temp is 73-77degF. Humidity runs between 40-60 %

I have 500 true watts led and I run them 18" above my plants, for your sf1000 the par map shows on average 500 umol at 18" at 24 your probably at 300 which is bare minimum for a 24/0 schedule for 18/6 you want minimum 380 max 1000 depending how your plants respond
For the sf2000 you average around 800 at 18" maybe 600-650 at 24" which is good would explain the new growth.

I’ll lower the lights to 18” and see how things go from there. Think that’s a good move? I’m running the lights 20/4
