i am on my first grow and read alot about 12/12 from seed and i love the idea...who else grows 12/12 from seed and what are your opinions? love to hear some replies and comments on the thread...thanks mates

ha i have noticed man...i am just workin with to small of a space so thought i would start my own 12/12 from seed thread to let people know wat all im doin and see wat their doin to conserve space...and to see how their yields are with 12/12 and the above comments are how the thread turned out....just like my other threads..how did u get ur level or rating up on here?

I have to disagree with you there. Check out twitch.tv .... Those people are fkn trolls. Wouldn't you end up being a troll watching other people play video games though???? This is by far one of the best growing sites. If not the best. As with anything online, you have to wade through some bullshit.

I don't do 12/12 from seed. I did 24/0 from week two to week eight, then flipped to 12/12 for flowering on my grow. Topped once at about 3.5 weeks to the second node in order to produce four main colas. It's a very old-school approach, I think. But I only want to do one grow a year and get the highest yield possible, then pack up the tent until the next time.
I haven't really looked into it too much because it seems to me that flowering would start way early when the plant was too small to produce all the bud sites it would if it were left to grow for two months.
However, I think I'll check out some pre-harvest photos on 12/12 -- if the plants look almost as big as the more traditional route and the time to harvest is significantly reduced, I'd consider it.

I may have read this wrong, but you topped 3.5 weeks into flowering? I believe you are only supposed to top during vegging. Again, probably a misread, just wanted to clarify for anyone else wit teh same issue.

I've only done 12-12 from seed once in my life. And then I became addicted to auto plants, which in my opinion is better(alot of people WILL disagree) because when I had height issues, my problems were solved with autos, 12/12 became more work in the long run because 3/5 plants were 2.5' high!
Anyways, still have autos, still smokin, and plus, if you have a problem with space as well, ya only need one place for autos, 20/4 24/7 till harvest

shit man...sounds like a good grow experience to me...but where can you get autos from in the u.s.? and not get in trouble? id like to give em a try.

I topped 3.5 weeks into veg, when the plant had 5-6 nodes. I followed Uncle Ben's technique. My writing was unclear -- I clumped my light schedule discussion first, then talked about topping, but it was not intended to be a linear timeline.
So...24/0 until 6-8 weeks, with topping at 3.5, then 12/12 for flowering.
Thanks for pointing that out, I would never want someone to top at 3.5 weeks into flowering!
