Wagwan. One love, no hate.

Thanks for the info on the 12/12. Interesting read. I've got a few seeds germing now in paper towels I'm going to try two plants using that method; see for myself.

One thing I got from the huge thread over at IC Mag was that the sativa strains are better for this. I'm fairly certain that's what I have, I only have bag seed at the moment, saved up a bunch so figured I'd kill those first before I wasted money on good seeds. I've already almost killed one plant twice but I'm learning what they like and don't like. Heat bad! Cool good! Humidity good! Dry Bad!

I couldn't see where he said what temperature lights he's using. He's using CFL's but he doesn't say what Kelvin they are. I'm using a 400W HPS for flower so that's what mine will be going under.

- Edit -

I've now put a seedling under 12/12 with my other flowering plants so we'll see how it goes.

The guys at ic mag are definitely wrong dude.
Sativas are the worst kind of weed to do 12/12 from seed:blsmoke:

Hey Natmoon

I dont agree- i'm in the process of a 12/12...3 neville haze x nl and 2 afghan kush...the haze as far as growth and bud size is blowing the kush away. Now this is my experience, i'm no way an expert. The sativas seem to been more "agressive" plants as far as growth goes. Indicas usually stay short and squat, and from what ive seen 12/12 from seed doesnt give them enough time to get ready for flower. Now remember that a good portion of sativas come from the tropics where its basicly 12/12 all year and most indicas come from colder area's- afghanistan, pakistan, ect... wherer they have seasons, and 12/12 only happens in the fall after a long veg during the summer...now this is only my 2 cents, but it is my belief....

has anyone tried a perpetual 12/12 grow, I may give it a go... let me know if this make sense, I have more than enough seeds to get started and I am currently getting 85% females, I will either take one of the few males that pops up and use the pollen to continue to make seeds or I will leave the very bottom buds on some of my girls until they seed naturally this way I never run out of seeds and need only one grow area and save on lighting cost....... what do you guys think?

i think you basicaly re-invented sog. It'd be better, and easyer, to just use clones. Seeds are for mothers. But perpetual 12/12 is what im in the process of constructing... SOG style Aeroponics...

no disrespect intended but as I understand sog, you replace the mothers every couple of months with a clone that becomes the new mother, and why do you feel using mothers is better or easier, cloning isnt hard persay but I could do without the trouble I figure if I get 85% females from my seeds, its a wash since I would probably only have a 75%sucess rate with clones rooting and I eliminate the need for 2 seperate grow areas..... I am going to give the perpetual 12/12 a go and see for my self i will do a journal I will post the link in this thread when I am ready to start

what if you just use lowryder seeds. Then you can grow from seed and they flower themselves. Can take as little as 8 weeks and lets say you get a half OZ from every plant (though it'll probably be more),

Then, You could plant 3 every 2-3 weeks. Then every 2-3 weeks you get over an oz of bud. Or you can grow more. Depends if it's fo sale or smoke/

Those aren't sativas though dude:mrgreen:
They are hybrids, with at least 40% indica in them.
Makes all the difference.
Try growing a pure landrace sativa on 12/12 from seed and let me know what happened:peace::joint:

Hey ya'll first post but have been hiding in the shadows for some time..

Just a quick thought....

It seems to me that when discussing this or any plant for that matter, that age has absolutely no bearing on maturity in regards to indoor growing....

Maturation is predetermined by genetic biology, not specific age......All other species of life do not 'mature' until natural or synthetic means begin to produce the hormones that change the biology of said species into a reproductive entity....

Plants are no different and a cutting from a four month old mother that is under light 24/7 may look allot better and healthier, but in reality said clone is no more mature than a two week old seedling because the maturation process of a plant is evolutionary programmed and dictated by the cycles of the sun, witch is simulated and manipulated by all indoor growers....

It doesn't matter if your plant is ten inches or ten feet tall, like ALL other species of life, a plant is not truly mature until it reaches puberty for lack of a better word and shows signs of sex and begins to flower.....Age really only determines size and yield, potency is determined by genetics and only affected through human error or manipulation.....

Just an observation, shred away if you like and I'll see you in Hell....:fire:

For an experiment I did it - look at my gallery. Appears to be a waste - yield maybe a good doob or two. As soon as it hatch in germination I stuck it under 12/12.

Never done it with a seedling but I put newly rooted clones in flower all the time. Zero veg, 5 gal grow bag= 1.5-2 ounces per plant.

Best way to grow 12/12 fro seed is with a lot of light and a lot of rootspace. At least 600w and 5 gal buckets or bags. Works just fine. Sativas do great this way.

Yup- sativas are the way to go in 12/12- i just pulled my afghan kush's and the yeild was so so in 12/12, but the neville haze x sour nl i have in 12/12 are going to be awsome- nice sized with rock hard buds.
