13000w Grow Room Having Temperature Issues, HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Hi, I have a 13000w 400sq ft flower room. I have a 24000 btu 240v wall mount ac. (that I got for free:-P) Two window mount ac's that I also got for free. A brand new LG 10000 btu/hr portable ac. 3-6inch air cooled xxxl 1000w hoods in line on one side of the room, they are connected to a 10inch inline fan that is in the attic,(cant remember cfm, and don't feel like climbing up there right now) Next to the 3 xxl's is a 1000w umbrella type reflector( I ran some 4" flex underneath the umbrella and connected to a 4" 171 cfm fan, just to try and exhaust some of the ambient heat from the 1000watter). I have the same exact setup, mirrored on the other side of the room. Down the center of the room I have 2-2000w 4 arm spinning lights(someone owed me money and gave them to me to settle the debt), in between the spinning lights I have a single 1000w 6" air cooled hood connected to a 6" 435cfm fan. Now in the attic I have 2-10" exhaust fans that are pulling fresh air thru the hoods, they are then wye'd to a 12" exhaust fan and exhausted outside to the back yard(entire run is approx. 50-60 ft). The walls are lined with reflective foam panels for insulation. Oh, I also have 2-6" 435 cfm exhaust fans connected to two charcoal scrubbers. a single 10" approx. 600 cfm Windtunnel fan for fresh air intake. when everything is running my room temp is around 78-80 degrees farenheit. that number needs to drop to 72. Doesanyone have any suggestions as I am at my construction budget limit!:wall: :idea: :confused:

Whats your humidity levels?

Up the out take air?

Whats the temp of the tops (plants) compared to the middle and bottom? Do you have a hand held temp gun?

Would like to know what you have before i can help.

I think I solved the problem. im just going to have to grow at night, being that my ambient outdoor air temp stays around 87-104f during summer. after tinkering tonight I got the temp down to 72.8 on the farthest side of the room, underneath the 2000w spinner. my fresh air intake was just laying on the sheetrock in the attic:dunce:, so I slapped a flange and a filter on it and screwed it down. here are a few photos of the room, they aren't current pics, cause I only want to show it in its best condition, and right it still needs to be cleaned up.

13k even vented produces a good amount of heat. I had 8k watts in a 15x15 room so little more than half your sq footage equaling about 35.6 watts per sq foot and you're getting about 32.5 per sq ft. I had no problem with lack of light for that area. My buds grew enormous and plentiful..although to be real exact the entire 15x15 wasn't packed. Had a small perimeter on 3 sides to get in and work...but I'm guessing that you will too.

Anyway..I'm baked and rambling. No 13k isn't too much although you could prob still kill it with a bit less. Even with lots of,extraction and a/c my room would hit 95 sometimes in summer but with supplemented co2 there was never any real problem...aside from spider mites absolutely thriving at those temps.


Your temps are gonna be way different with lots of plants in there and all that water transpiring

One thing that I wish I had implemented would have been setting shit up on rollers or someway to move half the plants at a time...the reason being that with large areas being covered even with high wattage you want that canopy even as possible and the lights concentrated as possible while still getting maximum sq foot coverage. But you're asking for trouble having a say 15x15 square of canopy with no way to get into the middle for maintenance...even with NFT running with reservoirs all off to the side you're gonna wanna get in there.

If you had even just half of your shit able to move in order to get in you could group your hooded lights on either side with your spinning 2ks in the center and (how I would do it) take those extra 3-1000 watters and hang em vertically in cool tubes without reflectors in em ducted together with a decent extractor pulling through em. Then you would have the ability to walk all the way around your crop (even if it's just a skinny area) and push one side of the plants against the wall in order to get in the middle for messing with shit.

If you're doing a big ass SOG I wouldn't run the 3 vertical lights as it wouldn't affect much but if youre doing 3-4 footers hanging those vertically spaced to give as much coverage as possible it will dramatically improve your 2nd tier buds. This still leaves 10,000 watts horizontal which will cover a 15x15area with almost 50 watts sq ft supplemented by the 3000 vertically hung would give you top quality dense huge buds.

If you kept those 3 extra lights horizontal of course you can increase your sq foot coverage but take it from me you are gonna want a little room in there to get around , place fans, check for mildews/bugs , reservoirs, blah blah.

78-80 degree just add co2 and youre golden. with co2 plants perform much better at that temp range and it should be cheaper than more ac

@tre I have a co2 generator, however im hesitant to use it till grow three or four. I want to master the strains with the environment that ive created, before I add co2. besides, the generator adds higher temps to the room. and another thing I don't have an environmental controller yet.

Maybe if everything is spaced evenly in a square and you have the room to do it, rollers would kick ass! I would assume placing the rollers like a + sign would allow you to roll out the middle sections of plants, enabling you to inspect /work on both sides, and all the way to the middle of the room. Something this hardcore has got to demand a ton of inspection time / treatment to keep mites and things like them at bay, what a chore!

we will have approx. 1.5 ft of space between trays. so hopefully that will be ample room to get in and between canopy's (fingers crossed) but maybe investing in some sort of casters wouldn't be a bad idea.

I hope this was a huge joke.

1 cu ft of Co2 will increase the levels of a 1,000 cu ft room (10x10x10) by 1,000ppm.

A room that size ... rofl...

Nice setup so far sparky. Personally I like to run in the 77-80 range. I really like the idea of putting tables on casters so you don't need as much space between them for access. I hope you journal the build.

Dr Grinsp00n you're an idiot. This is the second asinine thing I've seen you say in as many threads and I'm sure your other 43 posts are of similar quality.
CO2 vapor is heavier than air, you want your CO2 source above your canopy and fans on the floor keeping it from blanketing the floor. Also if you put a block of dry ice into a puddle the puddle freezes so I really don't see what benefit there is.

For this amount of wattage venting your hoods is a MUST...Every hood should be in a group or bank and cooled from outside air, then exhausted back outside. Trust me...1000's are really bad for heat, I replaced all my 1000's due to heat control with 600's. It was a loss of lumens for sure but for the overall health of my plants it was worth it.

24 inches by 24 inches should be the smallest footprint you are estimating with, and that a little small. I have all my tables on casters and man it was one of the smartest things I have done in awhile. If you can afford it I would use them for sure. Good Luck

Also I wrapped my in 650 cfm fresh air intake fan with Sound Pads(there just 10"x10" 1/8" thick putty pads that are designed to muffle sound waves) to try and quiet that thing, being its mounted at the front of the garage. set up my nute mixing station, had to put it in my veg room. I'm almost complete. should be done by saturday, and clones potted by sunday, maybe Monday.

I got a few people asking me to make this post in English. So here it is.
For a room that is 12' x 10' x 8' you need 1 cubic foot of dry ice to make the ppm level of co2 1,000ppm. That 1,000 ppm wont stay long either. Not with fans, and the plants them self eating it.

1 cubic foot of dry ice weighs 74.9 pounds to 99.9 pounds per cubic foot.

So you would need around 100, 200 pounds for a 12 x 10 foot per DAY.
