Hey guys ,

So went away over the weekend and I came back....3 of my plants are doing really well...my one has yellowed / brownish lower leaves curling up.

Temp is 78-80. Humidity 45% feed her ph water 6.0 @ 440PPM.

any ideas? did a bit of reading it looks like a deficiency and not from nute burn.....thanks for any help!

Looks like it got a bit hot porky. Get temps under 80, and think about it before you leave a hydro grow unattended for a long weekend again

umm....i water my plants and water gets all over their leaves...? could that cause it?

Temps are not an issue , top leaf does not exceed 78......had a friend look after my temps wile I was gone.

this is my very first grow btw...so be nice:D

Yep that will definitely cause that. The nutrients in your water that were on the leaves burnt them. Water around the base but not on the stem or leaves.

Look at the edge of the leaf and how it is curled up. Those are classic signs of heat stress.

Hey guys , thanks for your replies.

Ok so some say heat stress , it has been under a 450W air cooled MH @ 1.1 feet distance. top of the leaf is measuring 78f , is that too high?

Then I have Fazer saying its the way I water them and my nutes/water must not touch the leaves as this causes nute burn? the NEW higher growth that I have not "watered or got wet" yet seems to be perfectly green , so I think its not heat stress otherwise perhaps the newer growth would also be like that?

I did spray them now a bit with RO water and bio protect.....the RO water that I sprayed them with is at a PH of 7 (do I need to PH balance my spray bottle for the leaves?)

thanks again peeps:D

Porkey 191, brown spots with the leaf turning yellow can be a N or P dificiency. It usually starts with lower fans and moves up the plant. The only way to know for sure is a soil test kit, which are on Amazon for $25. Buy one and take away the guess work. (I guess low N). Good luck.

Like BUDS tried to tell you, get those temps down...put a fresh leaf (any leaf) on your oven rack and see what it does when you turn the oven on....it curls up just like that, in other words get her between 68-72 and she'll be fine, and I've splashed mine with full nutes and they never looked like that...the last time my plants looked like that, my temps were about 82...good luck...advice only helps if you use it..

You need to read a little bit there Jimdamick, or get a couple grows under your belt. Do you see the cotyledons in the first pic (lil round leaves) they're still green, means that they are still feeding that plant. NO nutes for 3-4 weeks of a seelings life, and porky that is deffinetly a heat issue you have there :cuss:

Its on 24/0 so im always watering with lights on...(though now the water is not going NEAR the leaves)

the temp ontop of the leaf is 72F now....lets see if it improves! (72 is a good temp right?)

Thanks guys I appreciate your help , Will keep this thread updated!

ok...so then how must I water if i am lights on 24/0?

anyways it is not the watering...my one plant is in a bubble bucket and it has the same spots ...and I have never even watered that guy! (he is looking great though just a few spots here and there)

Here some pics of what it looks like , they are 3 weeks old. Check how much faster the one in the bubbler bucket is growing!

anyways you can see the one piece of dead leaf I took off its all dead:(

I say a combination of watering with nutes and leaving the water on the leaves, also water on the leaves can burn it by magnifying the light.

Ok guys ,

Temps are between 64 - 72.

Temps on the top of leaves are at 72.

Changed my nutes to a PPM of 760 from 450 and today the plant is very very droopy! I diluted the nutes a bit more by adding more RO water and now they at a PPM of 700. (3 week old plant)

thanks again peeps:D
