18:12 lighting the best of both light cycles

I'm looking for a relay activating board for my desktop I can control the lights in a manner to achieve 18/12 lighting:-P

i was joking but it could be true lol, sorry Guru ive become to creditably as a source for rui. i have no idea why u would do this my guess is noob sauce heard two things and mixed them together. fyi a mars day is only a halfn hour longer than a day on earth

Awsome... Id like to see what a more than 24hr light cycle would do. Itd be a miracle if your plants didnt herm.

It takes 10-12 hours of darkness for the right hormones to build up and let the plant know that its time to flower. If you are going 18 on and 12 off the plant is probably going to freak or stress between the build up of hormones over 12 hours every day while getting too much light to keep flowering.

pretty sure this kinda stuff has been done before and its never worked

This has been done before, and it works. But is it worth the trouble, hard to say. The plants respond to the 12 hours of darkness, even if the lights are on for more than 12. This extended daylight will add days to your flower cycle, and constantly change the hours that you can work in your room with the lights on.
I have seen at least one controller that allowed you to set your own intervals, like 18/12.

What I wondered about, what if you sped things up for weeks 1-3 of flower, then gave the 18 hour days for weeks 4-8.
