Excellent! Glad to have you along for the ride bud. +rep headed to you.

Also just tracked my Attitude package. Arrives tomorrow! Took roughly 9 business days for the whole deal. As long as its in good shape and no crushed seeds I might do something drastic tomorrow. Something about bag seed of unknown genetics.. 50/50 female. While on the other hand I can start a NEW grow with Barney's Farm genetics 100% female... in Foxfarm soil.. with foxfarm nutes. >:)

Just got my package from the attitude. Opened the Blue Cheese and put it in a damp paper towel in a plastic bag then put it on top of my ps3. Yay ghetto heating pads.

Anyway.. after it cracks open I think im going to drop 2/3 of the plants I have growing right now, buy a larger pot for my BC and go from there. Also excited to use my FoxFarm goodies!

Ill post some pics after I get it planted.

My last grow I used real Mylar. These things look just a shiny but like.. 1/10 the cost. Do your blankets work fairly good?

Tonights update:

Earlier today I covered my box in emergency blanket stuff from wally world. Major pain in the ass, but only $3 investment. Only one problem with that though.. temps in my box shot up a ton. 1 Seedling is 100% dead. Got another one that is nice and burnt, and one that looks OK. Temporary solution to the heat issue is to leave the box open for tonight. Also I think im going to go to 20/4 just for that little bit of heat.

In good news though my Barney's Blue Cheese had a nice little taproot hanging out of it tonight after work. Planted it in a small party cup. Also put my Lemon Amnesia in to germ today. Will be ordering some CP fans here shortly to get some intake/exhaust going. Ill post some pics tomorow morning.

Also just checked the box and decided to take out 2 of the 8 bulbs in there.. im sure those seedlings dont need that much light anyway.

Update:

Blue cheese has broke soil! Came home from work and had a baby blue cheese seedling saying hello. Also the Lemon Amnesia had fairly large taproot hanging out, so it got its first home in a party cup.

This is my first time growing in soil.. and I get watering large plants, but Im not sure how often to water these small party cups. I dont have a moisture mete, although it is in my plans for next paycheck. Go with the finger in the soil method.. or...?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Pics to come soon.. my laptop power cord is acting funny, but its 2 years old. Ordered a new power cord from amazon for 1.86. I win.

Update with pics! Both ladies have now broken soil.. these are growing 100x faster than that bagseed I had growing! I reckon good genetics and good soil has something to do with that lol.

Anyway.. onto the pics.IMG_0402.jpgIMG_0404.jpgIMG_0399.jpgIMG_0403.jpgIMG_0398.jpg

pics 3 and 5 show how much room is behind my box and wall. Little more than my fingers width. Will this still be enough room for venting out the back of the box via pc fan? Or should I go out of the top?

pics 1 is lemon amnesia, just sprouted today. Pic 4 is blue cheese. Sprouted 2 days ago.:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:

Thought I might point out that you are losing a lot of light to the top of your box. When you have no reflector, almost half the light goes up, and while some light will be reflected back down, it won't be significant enough to matter.

I made one out of poster board from wal mart, 25 cents.

I cut out a large circle, and then cut a small quarter sized hole in the middle, and cut a straight line from the outer edge to the middle of the smaller circle.

Then I wrapped it around the wires and taped the cut back together, kinda like a lampshade.

When they are small as they are now, the light has to travel too far, if you make this you get much more light for your money. If you had 100 watts of bulbs set like you do now, you'd be losing almost half of that to the top, not to mention you're paying for it too! Once they're bigger it will not be as necessary, as you will be bringing the lights closer to the top, but it does help for now, while your lights are not close to the top. CFL's will not get hot enough to ignite the poster board either. Alternatively you could use cardboard and line it with some mylar.

Hope this helps.

Also, I would vent out the top for sure, that's just not enough room for proper circulation.

You mentioned a bubbler for hydro; you might want to google hempy bucket. it just uses perlite and looks as easy as a soil grow but with the control of hydro. Just wanted to thro it out there.
Looks good. Do you know what your temps are? The two you lost might be coz of heat. Again I'm just a noob (got my first "broken beans" today)
Good Luck, and happy high :-)

Oh for sure the two I lost were from heat.. Im no expert but I think temps got 100* or so in the box that day. I have since rectified the situation. On another note, my landlord calls me today to let me know that monday he has to bring a government official over for "environmental inspection." No idea what this means, other than my grow equipment gets put in my car and parked a couple houses down for a few hours and the girls get a little bit of dark time. Messed up grow =/= homeless.

In other news, the girls are looking lovely and growing quite fast. The soil in one party cup seemed to be fairly dry today using the finger method so I gave her a little bit of essence of life. Ill get some more pics posted once they getting some decent growth. Stay tuned!

Since I mentioned it, does anyone know what having a house "environmentally inspected" means? I assume they are going to test the paint in the house for lead and check the drinking water.. which could prove informational to me :-D. Would really love some advice, need to know if my ladies need to find a new home for a couple of days.

Update with pics! Now that there has been some growth, I decided to post pics of the ladies and how they look now

.First pic is the top of the blue cheese, sprouted on 1/28
2nd pics is a side by side.. blue cheese on the left, lemon amnesia on the right. Lemon Amnesia sprouted 1/29.
3rd pic is the top of lemon amnesia. Notice the massive difference between it and the BC. Both are Barney's farm.
4th is the side shot of BC.. its not very tall. Growing very tight nodes, its forming its 4th one right now.
5th is a side shot of LA. Looking kind of wimpy compared to the BC!

Since both of these are now a week old they got their first nutes earlier. 1/4 dose of the seedling dose on the Grow Big bottle. Not sure if Ill even be able to tell a difference, but well see.
