Anyone,
How do I know how far to have the light? I've heard you adjust the height and all..but how often and how do you know when its at a good height?
If it's CFLs your safe at about 2" once they are beyond seedling stage. The best answer is, as close as you can without burning tops from heat. Keep your canopy temp at about 80 and your plants should thrive, 85 is the absolute max. Esp with cfls, you will not reach the 10k lumens/sq ft the bright sun produces. You do have a little ambient circulation correct?

I've never grown and dove in head first. haha crash course a bit but I made it to flowering. check out my sig if your curious.

Ohhh so thats what we are all reaching for when we chose lights. 10k. Well im glad you offered that informtion cause I had no idea. I have a desk fan about that stays on. It keeps the plant moving (but not too much). Do you have any idea why the edges of some leaves are curling up? I posted a few pix in the post before your if you can take a look for me.

Don't quote me but it looks like a ph problem. If it's only occurring on the lowest leaves I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it progresses to the rest of the plant then you should be concerned.

Is the waterfarm a bubbleponics/dwc or is it a simple recycled drip system?

Pretty much a recycled drip.I wouldn't doubt if its a PH problem cause I haven't got my PH down yet. I've been filtering my tap water with a Brita Filter (lol) and the PH comes out around 6 when I do so. Just a temporary fix until I get my hands on the good stuff.

Day 21

So i finally got a 400w HPS. Found it from a guy on Craigslist. But damn..this thing is sooo heavy. I def have to invest in one thats alot lighter. Its so heavy I cant hang it inside my tent :(. Anywho, So im still waiting on my PH Down. My ladies are growing good but leaves are curling upwards. Its more than likely a PH prob because I have no way of dropping it.

I attached some pic's of the big one and the another small one that has this purplish color in the center. Anybody have a idea what that means? These are all bag seeds with possiblility of being Kush. I planted 4 random seeds and all 4 have that purplish color. Any good help gets +rep kiss-ass

Wow those are some raised edges! I think they are a sign that they are trying to get rid of excess water. But there isn't any droop really, so I doubt you're over watering. A ph of 6 is pretty perfect, maybe 5.8 would be better, but anything 5.8-6.2 is fine. Doesn't look like over nutes either... hmmm do you have a small clip on fan blowing on them? It helps them breatheeeeee. I totally missed the importance of moving air on the leaves in the beginning and my plants started suffering dearly. Good luck!

Well I think its the PH because I have yet to really get it how i want. Im measuring PH with the PH Drops right now. Hopefully soon I'll get a good ol Digital Meter.

I do have a small desk fan blowing on them also so who knows whats wrong with these bitches lol. I just bought some PH Down and a 3" Air Stone today so ima hook that up and give er a few days n see what happens.

dont forget to let the soil dry up a lil if its in soil your roots could be constantly wett and that could cause some sort of deficency start giving nutes after the 6-7 true nodes and start with 1/4 strength bro then find out wat she like and cater to every need that SHE may have,,,,,,,,,,and soon you ll be reaping you fruots of ya lABor!~

Try a one hour ON, one hour OFF water cycle to give the roots some time to breath. Running the water non-stop is probably too much for those little pups.

Sup peeps, i know i've been gone for a lil but im back to update everyone on everything..i started out with a hand full of seedlings..like 3 in one waterfarm. 2 died from my punk ass cfl falling on them. So here i am left with one plant..and my oh my she's a fatty boom batty!!! :hump: (this guy cracks me up everytime lol)

So one plant and i just started flowering on Dec 19th. If you see the beginning of my thread,I planted it in a rapid rooter on Nov 20th. So thats one full calender month I let her veg. I read that you should start flowering when she is half or 1/3 the size you'd like her to end so I started when she was about 7-8in. To induce flowering I gave her 36 hours of pure darkness then of course 12/12.

Well, it has been almost 2 weeks into flower and I believe we have a female here. I check the nodes everyday and today i noticed some hairs poking out. This is without a doubt female now right?Well I know u'd have to see to be able to tell but really im asking, if i see any kinds of hairs poking out, is it 10/10 going to be a female? Are there any hairs at all on males?

Anywho, I've been going pretty basic with nutes since i've started. I change the water every weekend and make sure to add a lil peroxide to minimize salt build-up. Since the last light burn i haven't really seen any problems. I cut off the lower branches that were all stupid lookin and thats been it.

One thing I noticed is....throughout the entire grow I have yet to PH any of my water and everything has been good. I use distilled walmart brand water. That has surprised the hell outta me. Even after adding nutes!! I guess whatever strain this is its pretty strong. Just a bagseed by the way. Potentially kush but I think I'd be able to tell by now if it were..or could I??? Ok this shit is too fuckin long so ima end it.. lol

All comments are welcome! help me out if you see something Thanks

Another thing i wanted to share with everyone is how I kept my small desk fan on my plants throughout the entire veg phase and that sure did the trick for making stronger branches. My 9in plant is about as fat as a Dutch Master!! No shit!!! I personally think it looks kinda wierd but who I bet I wont be saying that when those buds pack on!! lol
