2 dollar CO2

I haven't brewed beer, but aren't you supposed to keep it bottled up? Isn't the CO2 the 'bubbles' in beer? If it was open, wouldn't that make flat beer? (yuck!)

i think the fermenting process produces the co2 sugar and yeast
when the beer is bottled you can add a tiny amount of sugar which livens it up again try it you can knock up 5 gal for less than 12 pounds 20 bucks.

I don't think this method is very useful unless you are growing in a small cab or something. It is way more effective to go out and get an actual C02 setup.

Yea, ghetto mans method. Grow big or go home!

Or go home drink and entire bottle of Sunny-D (YUCK!) then mix some yeast an water put it the bottle and rig it with a bendy straw. Then post a picture of it on the net next to your marijuana plants. I think I read about it in a book called "101 ways to completely waste your time"

I'm not taking sides, but...

If you can't afford a "big-league" CO2 generator and this is the best you can come up with to give your plants a steady supply of fresh CO2, then by all means, do it. Keep in mind, though, that simply spending time with your plants and breathing while you're with them will probably produce the same, if not greater, or an effect.

You can also get a fan:roll:

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think this method "really" produces enough C02 and for long enough, to actually help the plants - C02 is just an added bonus anyways. I think some people get to caught up on this subject.

I agree CO2 is only effective at certain concentrations and also requires a closed grow room to maintain those levels for the period of time necessary to be beneficial to the plants. A little yeast and a straw is just a waste of effort. Plus most urban areas have plenty of "extra" CO2 anyway, heard of global warming?

A fan works if you want to keep feeding the plant fresh ambient air, regardless of the CO2 content of that air.

I can't think of a quicker, cheaper, more efficient way of producing CO2 than to just breathe.

I can think of a cheaper more efficient way! Light your trash can on fire! Maybe I'll post a pick of a flaming trash can next to my plants!

i tryed the yeast an sugar it worked but i had a verry small grow room an i had to keep making the brew becaus after 20% alchol the yeast dies, the room smelt like brewers yeast and my kitchen sink smelt like cheep alchol. i made it in a milk jug w/screw on cap put a hole in the cap run 1/4" plastic tubing out of it to a jar full of water put the tube in the water an move it up an down till the bubbles cobe out 1 every few seconds when it stoped bubbling i made another gallon. you know sometimes its fun to try it instead of buy it, try it if it dont work for u at least you got some shity tasting achol,till u bild that still (hey theirs that new DIY project you were looking for hahaha) oh also instead of using sugar use fruit (better smell an taste)

That is by no means cheaper than breathing.

Breathing = Free

Lighter = $
Trash can = $$
New, unburnt home = $$$
