2 200w for veg?????????? That is WAY OVERKILL. I have 85w over each of my plants that are flowering. Using lower wattage bulbs is alot better than one or two high powered bulbs. Find some y splitters and use like 4 23 or 27 watters.

:leaf:Peace:leaf:
thats exactly what i was thinking. get some extension cords, plug the splitters into those and get a variety of spectrum going with both warm and the other hah.

I've got 8x 26w cfls in my veg area, and the do pretty good, but when I had my 400w mh over the plants it was like night and day, huge differance.

Hi Littlgrower I'm really glad I came along your grow journal. I'm about 5 weeks into my first grow with cfl's and a 90watt LED. I'm going to buy another this payday for someother seeds I have started and also my clones. Did you get rid of your spider mite problem? I worked in a commercial greenhouse for a few years and may have some bug killing tips.

i tackled them for a good while for this grow but in the last week ive seen a pretty good amount of them back attacking my plants! hows your LED doing for you with the mix of CFLs?

Well my first grow has been more about me trying to keep my plants alive from me dropping them wilting them, the power went out twice since I have started which didn't help. I love the LED, I didn't research the cfl's very well and have tweaked that cuz my plants stretched. how sleath does your grow have to be? It sounds like your whole place has the mites. you may have to wait and just try to keep on top of them until your girls are done flowering. In any case you need to sterilize your place. We did this to greenhouses between grows. You need to mve your girls out and bug bomb. Do this to the room as well as the closet. wash all of your grow stuff with a bleach solution even the pots or buy new ones. then apply if you can some of that sticky bug catching goo around the rooms doors, and windows, don't forget the ceiling. The rug if you have one needs a sticky pad down so anything you track in sticks to it. In the greenhouses we dipped our feet in bleach before entering some of the houses. I hope this helps.

ya the only area which seems to be mite free(for now) is the moms/clone area. im already planning on giving a week or two between grows to spray and let the eggs die in both rooms. its just so hard haha to not keep going when i got everything ready. i dont think im going to get into debugging as much as it sounds your greenhouses have been but thanks for the helpful advice. theres a few solutions on here, one called nicotine tea which is been said will kill them all almost 100%. i mite try that one if i cant get rid of them thsi next try.

Good luck. There are many ways to get rid of them I'm sure. None are fun and it sucks to have to stop any production. I dig visiting my plants a few times a day.

DAY 42, end of week 6. picture update. sorry for so many!

the spider mites have exploded under the HPS, im guessing due to the temp difference. so now i have the question running through my head, save the LED closet from the mites when the other ballast comes or risk putting the ones under the HPS back in with the relatively mite free ones??? as well the GDP looks like it is finishing up here so i might be placing a few outside to turn purple, my temps in the closet dont drop enough at night. most of the others look like they got a couple more weeks so next fri is the last nute watering and flush after that.

God pics look freaking great. The GDP is the very wide leaved indica right? She is looking really pretty. I want a purp strain sooo bad for my next grow. I can decide on what to grow not very many good options for purp strains on the seed bank websites I use.

Looking great as usual grower! Sorry to here about the mites. Unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions on getting rid of them. Try to control them I guess. I used safer soap on mine when I got gnats, but I don't know if that would help in your case.

ya i dont think im going to be doing anything about them other than kill as many by hand as i can. they havent started webbing yet but i would guess by the rate there going in a week there will be some. im too far into flower for me to use neem or bombs. all i can do is really take a break in between grows and clean the shit out of the closets.

the ballast came today so tommorrow they will be back to double the LED power! i think i have decided to leave them split up due to the mite problem so its down to 10 under the 2 LEDs. i got my new set of clones rooting so im getting ready for the next grow.

Thats sweet you got your light back man. I agree with the decision to keep them separate. Hopefully it will help slow the spread of the mites.
