2 to 3 times stretch during flowering? Really?

I just moved and AK-47 and a mystery plant into my flower room.
I'm growing in Happy Frog and the feeding Fox farm nutrients.
My double? Stretched from 27 inches to 36 inches and my AK-47 stretched from about 24 inches to about 36 inches.
This is not double or even triple the height of they were when I took them out of veg.
I am following the Fox farm nutrient feed system table downloaded from their website.
My flower room is under lit, 9 x 7 with a 1000 W HP lighting it, so I would assume they would stretch even more.
I guess I am wrong.
Has anybody else experienced this with Fox farm nutrient systems and soil?
I have a perpetual grow going on and this is consistent throughout the entire grow. None of my plants double in height during flowering.
Is this due to lack of lighting, or the Fox farm nutrients?

Some strains just don't stretch much I grew critical mass and white diesel both were switched at 10-12" the critical ended up just under 3' the diesel about 18" I flower in a 7x8 with 2 1000 Watt hps. I think the double or triple is just rule of thumb for newbs

the 2 or 3x streatch is more for sativa dominate strands i think. indicas tend to stay short and bushy, and if you toped your plants at all they will be shorter aswell

Yes, really.

Very difficult to say why this isn't the case for you but I will say that I am on my first grow. Vegged 9 plants for 4 weeks from seed to about 10" then switched to 12/12 and as of now all are well over 3 1/2 feet tall 4 weeks into flowering with nice shaping colas so far.

Perhaps the size/age of your plants at 27" before flowering is the reason for lack of growth during the transition.. 27" is a pretty big plant to finally decide to flower, that's more of a mother size.

No I never top my plants in fact I just started FIM training recently with stuff still in veg. I always considered it topping but I guess if you get 4 branches to come out the consider FIMING.
I do understand that these strains are supposed to be short and bushy, but 36 inches tall S pretty short.
I went from outdoors to a perpetual indoor growth so I'm having a learning curve difficulty.
Will more light in my flower room stretched them farther are these strains just that way?
I can post pictures if you guys want to see them, some of them are with the HPS on and some of them are from my vegetation room?
I don't know if it will do any good?

jmacintosh makes a really good point, a plant thats been vegged to near its usual maximum height isnt going to grow much taller in flower, whereas a short young plant switched to flower still has a lot of height left to grow

By all means no disrespect, but I grew outdoor for many years and I can grow a 12 foot plant if I want to.
I might not be able to do it with the strains that I am currently growing but I guarantee you I can get a 6 foot plant out of them.
When you grow outside your veg time are not measured in weeks there measured in months. A plant can be almost 4 to 8 feet tall before it starts to flower.
I can tell you how to grow a tree?
Perhaps your lighting or nutrients are foul.
This is a picture of a plant that was five weeks into vegetationView attachment 2569388View attachment 2569389, one week longer than normal.
There are respectively 26 inches tall from left and 24 inches tall to the right.

There is an opinion on this thread that says it might only grow only one third taller but I do not know.View attachment 2569400View attachment 2569401There is only one plants in the middle that is sitting on the floor; all the rest have been raised up with shelves coffee tables in 5 gallon buckets.

Don't take me for some kind of grow guru because I do not know, this is just my current experience indoors.

No the average plant was veged four weeks from clone to flower room.
Thank you. All input is appreciated.

Ak47 is a sativa dominant strain. Mine vegged for one month to 20-24" final height was less than 29" no trimming. Stretch is not something most growers want. But if its what you're looking for, try other strains, veg for longer periods with larger pots, or lift your lights up even higher.

Stretch is not something u want in veg...when flowering begins...a transformation takes place and stretching is good actually and desirable... IMO...the more it stretches n stacks the bigger colas ull have...see what I'm saying?

Basically if they're stretching n stacking up all that will fill in w bud...when I flip my lights every day I look at em like cmon baby stretch....
