2 weeks and a couple days into my first grow...

Hey there, just a little update the girls are doing good... Gave them a feeding last week of 1/4 strength nutes and upped it up to 1/2 strength today, and so far they look happy. I'm a little worried I topped too early and made them a bit wonky but eh, there's a learning curve I guess.

The smaller ones are grapefruit romulan and the bigger ones are purple Cadillac.

Any suggestions about training? The romulan look really bunched up to me?

PS. Technically I guess they are 3 weeks old because they spent a week under a T5 rooting into solo cups.

Happy growing!

bit large-scale for a first grow IMHO, there's way too much that can go wrong but that's what you've gone with.
They look ok ATM, looks like some of them suffered from heat/humidity issues also its hard to tell anything more with those HID lights on.
Next time you upload pics do it when the lights are off, impossible to see colours/deficiencies.
I topped my plants at 2 weeks old (from seed) and they were all for it, aslong as you have 3 sets of leaves (or even 2) they will be fine.

I do a whole different style. I start the seedling in a small piece of rockwool placed directly into the F&D table under a 1kw hps 12/12, set at about 44" from glass to rock. When it's ready I fimm the seedling(s) and put the snip(s) in the bin for safe keeping. If I like it I'll continue with it.

Read up on taking the skinny lower branches to either clone or toss. LOWER ONLY!. Below where you topped to start. Some are a tangled a bit.
I ended up super cropping some of the purps and did LST for the romulan and they look way more even now. Planning on doing a little more pruning once I flip them to flower when I get back from vacation on Sunday

Well I did 18 because I'm trying to cover cost and have enough to live. I've been working in the industry a while and this grow was a career choice. I'm really just hoping for 2 lb minimum.

And yeah the temps were varying too much when the lights would go off I think that's why the leaves got a little crinkley, put a heater in there now for dark so we'll see if it helps?

Thanks for the advice

2lb per plant?
am I right in assuming these are clones?
I'll give you a tip on a fantastic way to create some size from a clone at this stage.
Find yourself 8-10 main stems on your plant, tie those down to the same height so that your canopy is roughly even and evenly space them around your bags.
That way you have a plant that grows 8-10 if not a few more main colas rather than growing 18 bushy plants with popcorn buds everywhere.

That's what LST is. And no 2 lbs total

if you cant pull twice that amount id be disappointed :o
Especially if you have LST 18 plants, that's like 1.5 ounces a plant.
I've seen people pull close to that by using CFLs inside a cupboard using the SOG method.

Cool, I'm stoked to hear that. I just set the bar low so I'm super excited when it goes well I guess?? Thanks!
