I know can't put them straight into super soil what I'm asking is beings it only 3gal will the roots reach the ss to fast
If you cook it the recommended 30 days fill the 3 gallon pot 1/3 with SS at the bottom of the pot fill the rest of the pot with base soil you will be fine especially if you are going from clone to harvest in that pot it will give your clone plenty of time to grow into the SS.

Sub, can you tell me what the consequences would be of adding 2 POUNDS of humic acid instead of 2 TBSP and 2 cups of azomite instead of 1 cup, as I have done by mistake? Please tell me I haven't ruined this entire batch! Thanks

Ok, guys, my hope is that there is a difference between Humic acid and Raw Humate. I added 2 pounds of RAW HUMATE to the mix. For reference, the package (Dr.Soil's Raw Humate) says to treat one gallon of soil with two tablespoons, so, again, difference between Humic Acid and Raw Humate? Thanks so much for the quick responses...hoping I bought the wrong product, and two wrongs have actually made a right...or at least something useable....lol...uggg....

Ok, guys, more information about this raw humate. I can't expect anymore help than you guys have already given, but maybe in helping me understand the situation, others will gain some knowledge of this important ingredient in Sub's recipe. I contacted the owner of the company I bought the raw humate from (off EBAY), and this is what he said - "you purchased a raw Humate ore mined in west Texas from an ancient (65 million year old) deposit. The actual humic acid content is 59%. However, this is in its pure form. It has not been altered with chemicals to make it immediately soluble, so you are not blasting the soil with a humic extract containing chemicals. It is not really an acid, but rather life-giving molecules stabilized in a clay base. There is no way it will make your soil toxic. If your total mix was at least 10%, that is good. I use it in as much as 20-30% by weight with great results"......so it sounds to me that this Humic Ore is different than the Humic Acid that the recipe calls for...what do you guys think? Did I get lucky here?

Well dude to behonest with you I would give it a run with one plant so that way if it is too much you don't ruin a whole crop. Did you ask him what type of plants he was using the "20-30% by weight" ratio on? Because that can make a HUGE difference if it's not cannabis. I will tell you this I could not find the humic acid in my area so I am using humate as well but I still followed Subs recipe accordingly only using the humate instead of humic acid and my soil PH is perfect at 6.8 So I hope this helps you to make an educated decision on what you are going to do because I would hate to see anyone ruin a whole crop as I could only imagine how painfull in the heart as well as the pocket that would be.

Hey, LGO, that's great advice! Exactly what I was thinking - one plant test run. I think I may have stumbled onto something that needs to be clarified as it applies to Sub's Super Soil recipe. Guys, please correct me if I'm wrong. The recipe calls for 2 TBSP of humic acid. I now believe this is the powdered stuff that has been chemically altered to make it water soluable and somehow much more concentrated. The Humic ore I purchased looks more like worm castings and is advertised as a soil amendment just the way the castings are advertised. On the package, it says to add two tablespoons to a gallon of soil, so this just couldn't be the same stuff that Sub's recipe is calling for...I really believe a clarification here would help, as I would bet a large number of people are not adding the powdered form of humic acid but the soil amendment type and, therefore, applying the wrong ratio. My guess is that I did get very lucky here, but I won't know for 4 or 5 months. Guys, thanks for all the help.

the recipe is crystal clear. if people are using a different ingredient in place of another then you just cant say its un clear wat to use. humic acid is very easy to find online in fact thats where i got mine for like 5 bucks. before you go ruin any plants you can spend 10$ and get a soil PH meter.

got half the ingredients today at one of the local hydro shops. had everything but blood meal, fish bone, azomite and humic acid. i hope i can find everything else at like a home depot!
also got 15/15 germ rate!!!! just transplanted seedlings into 1gal pot of roots; 5 cheese quake, 5 vortex and 5 pink lady... hope i get some keepers!!! really stoked about the 15/15 germ my first time starting seeds. i owe it all to sub, followed his instructions to the T, and great genetics!

Predatory nematode soil drench works prefect.

OF has Bugs period I am basing this on two years research into there product.

i am not a soil grower, but i recently purchased some OF and light warrior for my mother plants. i drenched the soil with azamax, and my potted plants have been perfectly find. however, i stored the soil in a closet, and about 5 days ago i started hanging buds in there. the next day i opened the door and seen a gnat flying around, and i was like wtf die motherfucker die. long story short the bags of soil are now in garbage bags and are probably gonna get pitched since i grow in water anyways. the sad thing is i was eyeballing the roots organic.

also, your soil recipe has me thinking about doing a soil grow to check it out. mainly the reason i dont do soil is because its an area of unfamiliarity to me. the main reason i like hydro is because i know at any given time just about exactly what is going on with my water. seems like your recipe could take the majority of the guess work out of it. december im adding more lights and space, so i may just give it a shot..

I noticed in your transplanting video, after you put the SS in the buckets, I noticed you put some root and biobizz and mixed it around with the SS. My question is did you mix basic soil in the with ALL of the SS, or just the few top inches of the SS? Leaving a few inches of untouched SS at the bottom? In the video its hard to tell if you are mixing the bottom of the bucket

Peace
