I always run her Outdoors. I have friend who ran it indoor and a greenhouse. She shines best outdoor I think. Indoor she does ok but tends to take over the tent. She responds to topping but then she'll go really wide on you. It might be a Sativa, but she bushes out like an Indica.

Some start flowering at 5 weeks. It's an auto after all.

One in about 30 is a dwarf. Very Indica. The 4 plants in this picture are the same age.

10 weeks. Obvious Thai Sativa parentage is dominant.

In 2 gallon smart pots to keep them small. The one on the left is 6' tall.

Week 16 from seed. You're right. Leaf to bud ratio is low to very low. So very leafy. It's not for a lazy trimmer that's for sure. But I trim with a bowl trimmer for wet, and a DIY dry tumbler for bulk stuff, so it doesn't matter to me.

Cola's at harvest time (end of august/early september)

One plant. Zero mold.

When I first saw the Sativa leaves I was afraid the side branches would be long ass 5 footer sativa that break with a little weight (Trainwreck anyone?). The nice thing about the structure is that the side branches grow more like the Afghani parent. Short and very strong, very close inter-nodes and very dense. But I have to say, if your hole is totally amended and airy, you'll need a fucking good stake to hold it up. Little 'ol bamboo won't cut it. If you let her take hold in some real ground, she's good.

Smoke is smooth and peppery. High is... I was told is "An award winner. Not intense. Motivating. Happy." So I guess it's a more Sativa high. I'm not a smoker really. Total lightweight and it messes me up. I take a couple tokes at a concert. That's it.

Sorry. No bud pictures, but it's not as dense as an Indica, and leans towards a tight Sativa. Like most sativa's, bag appeal isn't the best. Next post for a freeze dried bud picture.

BTW, I've been trying to isolate the dwarf because I think it would make a nice balcony plant and ready to harvest in about 8 weeks from seed. But it's rare and every one up until last year was a female. I got one male last year out of 800 gorilla plants and saved the pollen. My worry is that it won't stick, or I won't be able to keep a girl alive long enough for the seeds to mature. This year will tell.

I'd brush the pollen on as soon as she starts clumping up pistils, should be plenty of time to finish the seeds.

I ended up crossing the mi5, which is think is by short stuff, and I got this pheno from the group that was very purple and powerful and very frosty, but it grew kind of twisted and warped, but the end result was always nice. At the time my nephews were going through this little ninja turtles phase and so I ended up naming the strain TMNG. I'll probably have 4 large plants, and then several of these little autos in my garden, all the meanwhile trying to stay within my legal medical limit. Feels so nice to have that legal status. With the auto's I'll start them inside and I'm hoping to get two harvests by the end of september from them. They are very quick.

The kali china is also a very nice strain. I love it. I have one in the basement tent right now that is utterly completely purple. Leaves and buds are a very nice deep purple. Very frosty as well. Decent bud sizes, and a fast finisher. According to the Ace seeds site, this strain is an F5. Currently I am taking cuts from a second kali china and I'll be putting some white widow by nirvana pollen on another in a few days. I have also grown the hondurus strain by ace seeds. I am very impressed by this company. They claim to have passionate and ethical practices, and from what I've experienced they are quite high quality and don't over price their shit like some of these other companies.

The nypd is awesome as well, potent and stinky. The white label purple bud has not gone purple for me at all, maybe it will outdoors. that's the main reason I'm growing it. the green crack and blueberry is not as great as i thought, I'm actually quite disappointed with Crop king. I wouldn't buy from them again, but I have several clones and so i might as well try them outdoors. The green crack though I guess was pretty easy to grow and turned out well, but compared to other strains I've grown it just isn't that great.

Okay well I've ranted enough now, I guess that rum and beer really hit me!

Someone mentioned a 10ft height restriction for canada is this an acmpr regulation?

Also theres some clones stores around here and they have ethos genetics have heard good things about a few of their strains and trying them outside this year they are currently about 2 ft tall with 4 months of vegging ahead!

There is no height or size restriction. It's strictly a plant count which is dumb in the extreme. I think there should have been a couple growers in the senate to fix that. So if you pop 4 seeds, and 2, 3 or 4 are male, you're screwed? You lose the season? That's BS. The plant count wording should have been "4 flowering plants." Even then, you should be able to grow 12 seedlings and cull the weaklings so you can have 4 robust plants. But hey... who am I?

It's a little early to get clones unless you have room indoors until they go out June 1st. They will be huge by that time. If I got one like that now, I'd only get ONE, then take some clones mid April.

Living and growing in southern ontario (canada )

Last season I ran chocolate haze did not finish exactly on time but pulled it off and love the strain bit early or not ....and will again this year ...this 2020 season doing 4 rec plants in my yard as I have a legal Indoor operation or I would do more ...

never transplanted adult plants in the spring they are about 20 inches tall right now may 24 is the goal for outdoor planting so they have a ways to go for veg from now I should get about 4 months veg 2 inside and 2 outside aiming for some trees this year ...sorry neighbours ..

I have heard that some ethos genetics do well and finish onetime outdoors in southern ontario .

Southern BC also. Last year my super skunk was so-so. Took a bit longer and didn't finish as nicely. The Sweet Cheese (fast version) was really good. It finished faster than any other plant I've grown outdoors and everyone really liked smoking it. The problem is I can't find any seeds and have a feeling there aren't any more. Going to try the Crystal Candy (fast version) and a yet to be determined strain for this year. I also found that cutting the bottom out of a 10 or 15 gallon fabric pot works great for shortening the season. What I do is dig down a bit and put the fabric (bottomless) pot in the hole and fill it with manure/compost/peat, mostly manure. The pot stops it from expanding it's roots out like it normally would and judging from last year where I had plants grown both ways, the plants in the bottomless pots finished at least a couple weeks sooner.

I haven't seen any other threads especially for Canadians and our climate. Thanks for the input too. I'd love to try some Peakseeds gear but I have stuck with feminized seeds. I don't mind growing reg seeds but there are times when I just don't want to make the extra effort.

I'm eastern Ontario. Last year I grew a Swazi. This is it mid to end of October. I harvested it after several sub zero freezing nights (~-5c). The fan leaves took a beating, but the buds we perfectly fine.

Here's one I grew in 2018. I put it in the ground July 1st. I let those two go until there was snow on the ground in December. Again, fan leaves were toasted, but the buds were fine. This was it October 15th.

I cobbed it.

Wonderful smoke. Very narcotic.

I'm sure some strains that didn't evolve in a mountainous region wouldn't do so well. While I'd rather have nice finishing weather, the cold doesn't bother me that much. These plants don't produce enough product so you'll never be able to get it in a dispensary. I still have seeds from it so if I ever come across a pure Russian Ruderalis seed, I'll take a shot at moving it towards an autoflower.

I noticed GG#4, I've got 3 fems on the go right now, a blueberry, alien tech and my own breed I call short and sticky. Still variation in the regular seed, which I like to see the individual lineage and characteristics. Just finishing 4 Matero Blue clones, I'll send a pic. Also met another fairly local grower from Amherstview with who I've been chatting with so thats cool. Always good to share interests, techniques and seeds.

My son took the shot with his new camera and sent it to me. We have 6 cats so unfortunately cat hair can be seen on the bud. Grrrrr. Do you compress the bud? I only bake with mine as I quit smoking 30 yrs. ago, 2 grams of bud per muffin approx. mostly Indica breeds. I'd love to be able to leave mine out that long but I live in suburbia so... Thanks for sharing.
