You can go longer than 24, they supposedly add more canibinoids in darkness.

The reason behind this is plants produce trichomes during dark periods, they act as natural sun screen for the plant. Cannabis can survive for around 72 hours +/- on stored energy. So in theory leaving them in the dark for 72 hours will force them to produce more trichomes and increase potency.

had a long chat with someone inthe know today
he points out that we woud expect extra light to do more good at this final 24hr point - which does make more sense i guess
so what evidense do we have trichs are produced at night?
if this is a well established fact then i will look further into this - if not then i give it up as a red herring

i heard that if u leave the lights off for the last day or two the buds get a little bigger and stronger. i will try the 72 hour lights out next round
