so wait your not even using root powder or gel?
that is gunna pose a problem and that is our problem
they arent gunna root just by sticking them in water
get some plastic domes and root powder
place the domes over and cut the leaves just in half horizontally
the humidity will help alot

This is incorrect, and provable with just about any plant in existance, including our beloved herb.

All that extra stuff is just for increased success.

Seriously, it can be a simple or as complicated as you feel you need to make it.

*edit*

Just gonna toss out this LINK and tell you to look at post #19 before anyone comes back hatin on my posting...it's the first example I found with a few minutes of searching this site.

And I just discovered that info came from the RIU FAQ.

i rooted 6 clones (100% success rate) in an AeroGarden, with only a drop of SuperThrive in the res. (also mod'd with an airstone in the res)

I'm going to toss out the idea that Nitro's got too much light hitting those young cuttings. Even if you don't give them full dark, they really don't like full sun.

roots grow more int he dark anyway, 24 hour sunlight, IMO doesnt make sense. i know alot of people do it, but 20/4 seems to be like it would make more sense i went 20/4 for a week then swtiched to 18/6 then 12/12.

My reading has suggested that after 20/4 you've reached a point of diminishing returns which makes it "better" to give your plants the few hours of dark because those 4 hours you're "sacrificing" are pretty much useless to the plant anyway.

Holy shit....the end? hahah well sir, this pot and my daily adderall and ritalin made this one hell of a read haha. I just read the entire thing start to here and enjoyed every post. I am a hydro kinda guy, but the simplicity in soil always seems incredibly appealing to me. That "topping" that you have done is ridiculous. Most people cut the small 1" max cola off the top and are happy with those two chutes. The picture of you with your scissors 2 bud sites down on the stem made me cringe. One page later I was in awe at the formation of all of those colas. I am currently fucking around with a SCROG that I am kinda doing my own thing with. I am going to top some of the colas that are bud colas growing from the side of the normal stems haha. I may also tie down and LST some of the chutes that are attached to the branches that are already tied down and LSTed haha. You should take a little look at what I have going on in my signature. I too am fucking around with cloning and having some issues. I actually just made a little cloning system I am hoping will work well.

sorry for the little rant my friend. Your grow looks excellent and you are doing a great job. I know what it feels like to post and need an answer within 15 minutes or you make the damn decision yourself haha.

Stay smokin brother +rep

thank you every one for all your comments. tmsculli thank you for spending your time reading and giving me some moral support. for the others who have justed jumped aboard and wondering about my light cycle its 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower its been this way the whole time. when i clone i do use powder and have them in lil humidity domes. i have tried every way i know how i have used the bubbler method the soil method the fuck it throw it outside method i have them on a heating pad thats not helpin. i mean i get like 2 maybe 3 clones out of a 12 clone round of cutting. its no problem to cut 12 clones a week off momma as she is fucking huge. im getting ready to repot her and i will post pics then i also have thrown 2 more clones in the flower cab and one has shown hairs already they were put in 7 days ago one topped and one straight up just so i can see which will produce more. the momma plant has not had nutes for the past two weeks as im trying to make sure the nitrogen level isnt to high for clone cuttings. but nothing works!!! roots also take about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to root on the ones that do happen to survive. anyone who can tell me anything that sounds like it would remotely work im all ears

I think your clone issue may be, oddly enough, too much light. For those first couple of formative days, they need like a single 23w CFL. I'm not certain of the science, but I know fresh clones don't like full strength lighting.
