2nd grow. White Widow x og kush and G13 Purple Haze

Hey im 2 weeks into my 2nd grow. First one i had to rip up due to a divorce pending. Left is ww X og kush and on the right is G13 labs Purple Haze They are 2 weeks from seed. Just topped both above the 2nd true node today. They look preaty hardy im probably going to transplant into 5 gallon smartpots tomorrow. Soil is sunshine mix organic. Mostly a peat based soil and i added 35% perlite and 10% vermiculite. Ive been watering with fish tank water since the first day they popped up. I dont know if it makes a difference or not, but im happy with the results so far. I have not even PH'ed my water this time, but i have been very careful not to overwater. I give them 6-8oz's of fish water every 2 days, so far its been working great

Lighting for the last 2 weeks has been 2x 23watt cfl's for each plant. One 2600k and one 6500k for a broad spectrum. I just added a blackstar 240Watt LED panel today now that they are getting bigger. Im leaving the CFL's as side lighting.

Sucks about your first grow, it always pains me to hear the words rip up, in the same sentence as marijuana.

I don't kno much about LED's but i know you did the right thing by adding more light than 46w of CFL per plant

So since i haven't added any nutes yet when i transplant im going to go 100% organic. Worm castings, guano, perilite, vermiculite, and a bit of lime. Just heading down to home depo to get the stuff today

Looking good some nice strains. I would go with some more lights though. Get another one of those panels one panel for one plant. Not sure much about led's though. I've done some nice cfl grows with 484 actual cfl watts.

People have done full grows with good success with just one blackstar 240Watt panel. Do your research. Its a small 4x2 tent so there isn't much room anyway. The one panel is plenty to cover the canopy and the cfl's for side lighting. Its 293 actual watts at the moment between the panel(180w draw) and the 4 cfl's(3x 23w and 1x 44w). I just mixed the soil last night and going to transplant later today. I got worm castings, blood meal, bone meal, dolomite lime, and perilite. Im hoping it will break down fast enough to feed my babies since they are starting to look hungry now.

Transplant complete. They were pretty root bound in those small cups. Went off without a hitch. Both were topped above the 2nd true node. The purple haze seems to be making the most progress right now, but the kush isint far behind. temps and humidity are 77F 45%RH. The lower leaves show signs of drooping/overwatering. I'm thinking it could be from the transplant into overly soggy soil. They seem to be recovering. As you can see the pots arent 100% full with dirt. I ran out of soil and i diddn't want to risk getting seen bringing in another bag since my landlord lives very close. I dont even plan to trim it here at harvest. It will be chopped, bagged, and driven over to my brothers house for a nice trim party Followed by a nice dose of ona in my apartment. Im using a phresh filter and 4x2 tent. So far no smell issues.

1 week after transplant. Seeing lots of new growth since i watered yesterday. No nutes at all just the organic soil mix and dechlorinated tap water not even ph adjusted. Im seeing if the lime i added to the soil will be sufficient to control ph. The wet leaves are just from a light misting i gave them. Not sure if it helps or not, but they get it in nature so why not.

Im just topping the once. I might LST when they get a little bigger. Transplanting freeks me out. Next time i think im going to cut the bottom out of a solo cup and start my seedlings in the 5 gallon pot. When it outgrows the cup it can grow down into the smartpot. Best of both worlds. You can control your watering on the new seedling and not have to transplant.

Any update? Im growing a ww x og kush will follow all the way out.

5 weeks from first sprouting. Topped before transplanting into 5 gallon smartpots. Both had 1 dose of 20-20-20 nutes at half strength over a week ago. I know its organic soil so im committing a sin by doing that, but im going to let the soil nutes carry it as far through flowering as possible. I might give them 1 dose of flowering nutes later but thats it. The purple haze responded well to the nutes, but the widow/kush got some very slight burn on the leaf tips. It has since recovered and is thriving. I turned off the LED light for the pics so you can see better. Im just wondering when to flip them. Its a 4x2 tent and it stands about 4-5 feet tall.

Should i veg another 1-2 weeks before flipping? Light penetration during flower could be a problem if i let them get too tall. The widow/kush smells amazing right now. The haze is very low odor. Its a good thing im running a carbon filter 24/7 this grow is right below my landlords bedroom. Ive got zero smell outside the tent right now. Its very aromatic when i stick my head in there though.

Any idea when i should flip?

You could flip anytime. Longer veg should offer a larger yield.
What are your lights? How much height clearance is left in your tent? Any additional training plans (top, LST, etc)??
Assuming you do nothing, they could 2x their height or more after 12/12.

Directly below the landlord's bedroom? Is this your first grow? at this location? Are you going to dry your harvest in the tent?
Sounds risky. Plants will smell a lot more during flower. And smell will escape when you open the tent. You better have a good/new filter! Maybe consider an adsorbent gel or ozone generator as a backup?

I have a ww x og kush 7 weeks in flower she smells very fruity and skunky I can't wait till I chop her.

Im running a blackstar 240Watt LED panel and CFL's for side lighting. They have been topped once already both have 2 main stems. Its my first grow at this location yes. Im running a Brand new Phresh Filter 24/7 and 250cfm extraction fan running at half speed for noise consideration. Harvest will not take place here. They will be chopped, bagged, and whisked away to my brothers place for trimming and drying. I think im going to buy an ona bucket just in case for the flowering portion. The Kush is stinky, but the haze is not right now even though its bigger.

They are growing like crazy now! I got about an inch of growth overnight! Im probably going to flip them at the end of this week.
