2nd grow

I just started my 2nd grow. Auto flowers I used the paper towel method to germinate. Only did two seeds one tap root popped well the other seed split but didn’t see a tap root. I planted both anyway is there still a chance the seed that split will still grow? Or should I go a head and germinate another seed even though I already planted? I was hoping to have them grow at the same stages together

Sometimes, they crack open and wither from various reasons.
But if only some days behind the other feller, I'd still have high hopes for it grow.

Maybe you could pop a backup seed and if you end up lucky you'd go with 3 pots?

Careful with watering at this stage, wet is the enemy.
Any sort of humidity dome/some plastic is great for this stage.

Change up your germination method as mentioned above. Use the little scotch glass size clear solo cups. Fill them with moistened not soggy happy frog. Pop holes in center of soil and drop in seeds. Visually inspect holes with light to be certain one seed is in each hole (seeds sometimes go anywhere but hole lol ). Cover lightly with soil and water in. Now place labeled cups on a heatmat. Finally use another clear cup to create a humidity dome. Within several hours all cups should be steamed up. Check back in 3 to 4 days. your germination rate should be 95% and up with this method.

There’s definitely still a chance that the split seed could sprout, but it’s a bit of a gamble.

Another update. I had to use what I had on hand, so I bent and tied down some parts of the bigger plant and also cut 3 bigger fan leaves off to let more light through. I’m hoping it doesnt stress it to bad. The smaller plant, I just bent it over and tied it downIMG_3186.jpeg

I forgot to add that this is my first time attempting to do any defoliation or training. My first grow I just let em grow naturally.

Some more update pics, the seed that split has shot up fast and is about the same hight as the other plant nowIMG_3261.jpeg

I’m kinda just experimenting at this point I trimmed a little bit to let more light to the lower bud sites and also tied some parts down. This isn’t idea but I’ve been on a budget and just working with what I have at this time. Gaining more experience as I go having fun with it

They flowered too fast. Your yield is going to be reduced drastically. Next time I would grow some photoperiod plants so you can control when they flower.
I noticed that. My first grow was way different and they got huge compared to this grow. I used 4 gallon pots on my first grow as well and 2 gallon pots this time

You can check my first grow out on my profile they got huge compared to these but the first grow was sativa dominant hybrid and I’ve read that indica plants can be smaller.

My first grow was way different lol these were autos as well but different strain and genetics and all that. It’s crazy to see the difference but next grow I’m for sure trying out some photos

I think the problem with auto flowering plants is they can flower at any time they want. But with photoperiod plants you can control when they start flowering which in turn allows you to veg them longer to get bigger yields :)

I’m already excited to grow photos for my third run just because of that, hopefully this grow won’t be a waste but I’ve had fun with them also gaining experience at the same time and I didn’t mention that these were free seeds from my first order
