Nice bro. The LST is working out great already on a few of them. I'm painting tonight! Got a nice cool quarantine spot with no airflow for lights out. Only going to leave them in there for the night. Hope that's enough to keep pollen from spreading. Should I spray them down before they go back in? I don't know I'm worried so I'm going to ask around. I don't want any other branches to get a single seed. I'm worried but promised myself tonight was the night. I plan on painting once more in three days. I can probably start making the pdf tomorrow. I don't want to scan 200 pages so ill probably use a tripod and a camera. Hope it comes out good.
thanks. i need to tie them down again and up their food. also installed a carbon filter.
after you paint them and let them sit for a day, i would put a fan on them before putting them back in. from what ive read i think you would be fine. i don't have experience here yet.

No problem. Yea that N deficiency looks like an isolated incident. I wouldn't look too much into it. I guess I would try and bump them up too and see if they tell you to back off. Thanks for your input. I got them sitting alone in a cabinet over night. I think everything went okay. I put up a thread in breeding, hoping to get some input before its time to take them out tomorrow. I know misting them helps stop pollen, I just don't know if spraying them will cancel out the fertilization.

i would think that everything will go fine. the pollen has already made contact with the pistils, so i wouldn't think the misting later would effect them. i would think it would help the spread of more pollen once you put them back, or wherever you take them. :) i wish you luck on this. oh, and if you have any extra male juice, feel free to pass it on. ;)
you may end up with some awesome strains. keep me updated. ill be doing this too as soon as i can.

yeah, the nutes in the soil are going fast, so i need to start feeding them myself. they have been in the same soil for thirty or so days. i have been giving them big bloom here and there, that stuff is awesome. i am very curious about the advanced nutrients ferts im going to use ( sensi grow and bloom a&b, big bud, nirvana, & overdrive). see what the hype and cost is about. ive used fox farm and earth juice. i like fox farm a bit more, but i have a tendency to make a brew stew with a lite mix of all of them for supreme coverage. this worked out well last harvest.

Yea everything went good. I sprayed them a bit before they went back and it doesn't look like it spread. The Mazar looked like the pregnancy took. The pistils on the pollinated bud looks tattered. Ill throw up a pick at the end of the tiny painted bud. It kind of reminds me of a joke. A boy asks his father what a vagina looks like. They father says well son that depends, do you mean before or after sex. He says before. It looks like a beautiful flower waiting to bloom. Well how bout after Dad? Have you ever seen a bulldog eating mayonnaise? LOL very visual analogy haha. Ok off topic. The trainwreck pollen may not have not as been as fresh as I'd like. Its painted bud doesn't look much different. I'll paint again, probably tomorrow night. I don't know how well it will keep but I'll send some if you want. You probably don't want the TW pollen though. I think it got too much moisture. I personally think AN is a rip. I think all that stuff you have is like half the crap they sell. I think they deliberately separate all their nutes and just give them different names to make more money. I can't knock company for trying to make money but its almost like they feed off of stupid growers thinking they cant buy anything else for their herb gardens. I doubt you will see a big difference but I hope its made of magic and you get magical super buds that never stop growing and you can smoke forever. LOL.

nice picture. that is awesome about your lady taking it, so to speak. i am not sure about an (advanced nutrients) but i did buy the nutes, so i may as well use them. i have read lots of good reviews on the ones ill be using: sensi grow, bloom a&b, big bud, nirvana, & overdrive. i also mix in big bloom and root drench by ff, micro-blast via ej, and some cal/mg by gh if needed.

ive been reading a lot about mj and what it really needs as far as nutes. i got the sensi because of the low p in the grow, and a bit more in flowering. but, not much more. you really don't need high amounts of phosphorous until the end weeks of the flower phase. meaning it can benefit mature buds more at high amounts then earlier in flower. my source is maximum yield, http://maximumyield.com/ there is a bunch of great articles.
so that is why the sensi an stuff. it has better ratios. i will probably get individual nutes and set my own n-p-k after the push pull is more situated, and clones are going.

most ferts were not made for mj. and i want to bring the most out of the genetics.

time will tell, as will the pictures. and i will be able to see from my own experience. thanks bostoner.

i will tie them down once more then start taking cuttings once they pop back up towards the light. after they repair from the cuttings ill go 12/12 then 11/13, or even 10/14 for the heavier sativias

they have been in veg for a little over 30 days now. and they size from 1ft to 2ft in height at the moment. i need to set up the aero-rooter too

What is the purpose of lowering the light period past 12. Just to jump them into flower? or do you keep it 10/14 for good.

from what i have read, more sativa dom plants, (haze like) that take up to 14 weeks benefit when you keep dropping the light. but slowly. its best to stay around 10 hrs of light though.

so, it helps them finish up. mimics nature more. i keep it at 12/12 for 8.5-10 weeks then slowly go down to 10/14.

Last update looks great KN!!! My white widow needed some extra nitrogen compared to my other strains this time around too, its crazy how every strain is so different! I'm staying tuned for the next update :)

Oh, nice. The more you know. Knowledge is power! Well, you should see if the water drowning technique you were talking about helps a Sativa ripen faster too, when it comes to that time (if that wasn't the point in the first place). My package should be in my post tomorrow! I'm hyped! Tang Dreams, Autoflowers and bubble gum oh my!.... and a free shirt lol.

Thanks for joining in. it really is crazy to see the difference of needs between the plants.

the drowning thing is started at the time they are ripe. the drowning starts a fermentation process in the plant, thus getting an early start on curing. that is the benefit of drowning the roots at the end.
in the mj growers hand book, (ed rosenthal) he goes over the 10/14 for heavier sativa strains. now that mj is being researched more, there is so much useful info coming out. and some crap too. knowledge is a good thing, i think. :)

i will have some new pictures to put up soon. they are getting very big. ill start cloning around sunday or monday. then, 12/12...etc. i am getting very excited about a few strains. the vk's are getting huge and the super lemon hazes have such long blades. very pretty.
i have no experience with cloning. but, i have read up on it and i am looking forward to giving it a go. i feel good about it.
not cloning the vortex's or the kaboom yet. i may when they flower to assure that they are female. (monster cropping) i also want to work with re-vegging too.

picked up some half lids. dj's blueberry, ak47, & romulan. i do like some indicas. just, a hell of a lot more sativas.

happy growing riu's

Love the avatar. "I believes its is calleds a foods libraries. It's a grocery store you douche bags."..... Yea I'm hyped for the next round. My plan is to germ the tang in a week or so. Though that may not give this current run enough time to get out of the flower cab. I'll see where they are at in a week.... Waiting until at least the end of march to germ the Diesels. They are probably going guerrilla.... Been about 10 days since I've shared the VK I'm taking daily shots of, so here she is at about 2 weeks from her first pistil. Last picture from the 22nd was at about day 3. Judging from the Mazars progress, she'll be filling out her stems over the next week. Right now she smells like vanilla mint gum. Some of the other VK's almost smell like chocolate.

looks and sounds good. during late veg they really started to smell pretty strong, (the vk's, la blanka, blk wid, ...smell the strongest as of now) only one day into 12/12 and i can already see some length added to them. as long as they see 'hamburger time' as a bad thing.... there looking good.
thats cool about all the fun strains you'll be playing with. i need to get some dual spectrum bulbs. save me the hassle of opening my hood to switch out bulbs and clean them so often.

ive been following a couple guerrilla grows. what part of the country are you in? by name i would assume north east, but that can be misleading too. it seems the mid to lower coast sates would have awesome territory for optional year round guerrilla fun. i will explore this route in the early summer. im in the north west and winter is a bit too cold for my lovely ladies.

keep us/me up on your ladies. looking good. :)

so, there is:
3x vanilla kush fem
3x vortex (unknown sex)
2x kaboom (unknown sex)
3x super lemon haze fem
1x super silver haze fem
1x amnesia haze fem
1x la blanka fem
1x special kush #1 (a hindu kush) fem
1x white domina fem
1x smile fem
1x big band fem
2x black widow (already showing pistils)
all are doing well under a 1000w hps, 400w hps, 4x 4ft t5 strips (65k for a mixed spectrum and side lighting)
my second time using lst. will also be monster cropping a good deal. and i am waiting on the sex of the tga gear. i think three out of five. the three look it. but, i will know for sure in a week or two. some of the ladies are showing a slight n deficiency. i have been slowly upping the nutrients. now, i need to start the switch of nutes.
4-6x 10.uvb cfls will be used 6hrs of the 12hrs of light starting the third week of flowering. its interesting, becoming familiar with what the plants need by looking at them.
i will also start a small amount of molasses every other watering until i add the bloom enhancers, then i will cut the molasses out. (most enhancers have molasses as a secret ingredient)

there's is a quick rundown of where i am.

happy growing. maybe a song?.....why not.
