As promised, here are some pics of the ladies in their 5th week of flowering.

And here is the bending technique I did for my sativa. If you look at the first picture you'll notice a bud on the very left. That bud was supposed to be the main cola, but I bent the top because it was growing to close to the light too fast. I snapped it and it repaired itself into something like this:

And I did shake some pollen from the branch of my confused male into a ziplock baggy and put it in the freezer. So I have the genetics!

i'm just getting ready to collect my 1st pollen
i've read that it helps a lot to have some desiccant with the pollen
easiest one is uncooked rice, sucks the water right out, moisture is what kills pollen

Oh shit, I had no idea. Thanks for the tip on the fly.

Me too! I didn't even squeeze the stem to make it softer before I bent it. I seriously just snapped it down, and it corkscrewed up towards the light and repaired itself.

Yes I am currently feeding it a tablespoon/gallon of Fox Farm's Tiger Bloom with 5 or so drops of Superthrive as well. I let my tap water sit for at least 48 hours so the chlorine can dissipate and such, then I make the mix and feed them. Then, I feed them water the next two times. Then back to nutes. They all have Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil and they are in 2 gallon buckets I believe.

Nah I got some dolomite lime in the soil so it evens shit out. But question: Can I pollinate a small part of one of my femmys this late into flower (5 weeks)? I think I'm going to really let them swell up by giving them 9+ weeks to flower so I might be able to pull it off. What do you guys think?

what you can do is fertilize a small side branch, likely it's more immature than the top ones
harvest the top buds, let the lower go until you get ripe seeds

You got a point there. Not to mention i'll let them swell up too, just to get more bud, and the seeds!

there seems to be 2 schools of pollinating a side branch
1 is to use a small painters brush, put brush in pollen, then take to grow room
the other is to be a bit of pollen in a closed plastic bag, put around side bud in an airtight way
leave for a day or 2
it will suck to fertilize your main buds, i'm told you will get tiny immature seeds that are practically impossible to get out

Definitely gonna paint it on a lower, less developed and mature bud. Then I'm going to chop the the top when ready, and give the lower growth extra time to mature as well.
