39 Days Old and still Small--

:leaf:Update on the 5 week old plant. Turns out yesterday it was 39 days old. I had the days wrong on the first post. So now it's about 5 1/2 weeks old and still very small. 3 inches tall and has about 2 nodes and workin on a third. Started growing a bit quicker after I put in 2 new 6500k 26 watters. Also put one of those reflectors for your windshield to keep the sun and heat out..thats working well to reflect a lot of wasted light. I noticed the roots are starting to show a little on the bottom of the pot. I think it is a 5 gallon maybe bigger so I can't believe it's still that small with all that root growth. I have been ph'in the water and have a fan blowing in the closet. 173 watts - about 10,500 lumens. A mix of 6500k and 2700k. It has these little tiny hair things in between the nodes. They look just like a hair that would be on a budding plant that is first showing. Just one little hair poking out. I didn't know if that had any relation to sex but as small as she is, when I go and smell it, it smells real good. Smells like dank kinda..also I found a dead leaf that fell of and crushed it up and smelled it and it smelled amazing. I have never had a plant that smelled like this being so small and all. Any thoughts?? What should I do. Is it worth to keep growing or will it take a year going at this pace. I don't really have that much time either. I have about a month or 2 when I need to start wrapping it up in the closet..PICT2008.jpgPICT2010.jpgPICT2011.JPG
again sorry bout the shit camera

What is the medium you have her in? If you do see roots now, if and when the plant catches up she will take off like a bat outta hell. Seems to me the roots may be a bit suffocated by dense medium, therefore very little water and/or nutes are getting to the plant body. If that is the case fixing it is gonna be pretty tricky.

A transplant would be needed. But if she is that old and you do have 5 gallons of root system you will need to gently remove a lot of the old medium off the roots. I would also up the size of the pot you put her in. Good luck!

I hear ya. That'll be a bitch. I forgot to mention I was using Jungle Growth potting soil. Pretty good stuff, prob not the best for weed plants. I also added a small amount of jiffy pot mix on the top cause I didn't have enough soil. I packed the soil very loosely though. I water about every 5 days. After 2-3 days it is still kinda moist of the top of the dirt. I really want to feed it but I know that might not be the best idea just yet.

Oh and what did you mean by up the sie of the pot?

thats what I thought. Damn I started out in a one gallon and found out that really wouldn't be enough and I thought this big ol 5 gallon would suffice

It actually would in normal circumstances be just fine. I only suggested a larger size because of the transplant and medium removal I suggested. This will give the shocked roots extra breathing and stretching room.

Besides when and if you do the transplant, you need to have a pot ready very quickly to get her back into. If you stay in the same pot it will take several minutes to prepare it. You need to minimize shock to the roots as much as you can.

these are my babies at 39 days from seed.. u need to let ur lady get more oxygen to the roots.. your soil is too compact around the root system promise if u go to ur local hydro shop get u a brick of coco 6.00 bucks at most places.. throw it in some coco u can use it exactly like soil but it works even better in hydro and im using all cfls ..topdrip or dwc678A0424.jpg678A0426.jpg678A0427.jpg

lol yea prob. I gave the rest of my beans away a while ago and kept one. This one is the bastard one. I'm not looking forward to transplanting as I don't want to shock it anymore. Also I would have to buy another pot and more soil and its funny how thats not in the budget right now. Really not expensive at all but even that much I really don't have to spare. Rent and shit all at once. . but I'm gonna switch it to 24 hours just to speed up growing. At this point I'm really not trying to do everything the way I would want but gotta sacrifice and make due with what I got.

Also what do you say about feeding...just for the hell of it. 1/4 strength, or even 1/8

I hear you on that. I wouldnt transplant, its so small. when you raise the light they "stretch" for it which is not neccessarily a good thing. I would feed them at like a 1/4 strength maybe less. something that is very important is to make sure the soil dries out enough before you water again. with your size pot that could mean a week.

Was this a fem seed? Do you have more seeds? If you are sure it was a fem seed you could possibly save it. I think in order to do that you're going to have to tell us more about your soil/water schedule/ nutes and so on.

If this plant has a root system that large OR roots growing down the sides. I am pretty sure it is the latter now, it is because the medium is too dense. The roots can only get througn the softest layer of medium at the top as it dries out.

I am still thinking if it were my grow I would transplant. At this point a little more shock won't kill it. Just be careful if you decide to do it.

P.S. JEW I still LOVE that avatar!

He's wasting 5 gallons worth of soil!

Or you coudl do what they did in that video... walk into a random field... far far away... and toss it on the ground

I think your giving him too much hope... thats day 39! that plant is super fucked

Well considering I have 3 clones of blueberry at around the same age and they are 3 feet tall and half done budding I can't even believe that plant is alive, what a waste of time and energy!!!
