I think least signifigant factor is the nutrients. The guy has a near perfect setup, its basically a hydroponic setup, 1.5 gpw is great but not unheard of. Pretty sure the guy is sponsored by can and AN. The interviewer clearly works for AN. And the interviewer is kinda a dick to him.

Anyways it is a sweet setup thats for dang sure. Very dialed in. I hope to have ths budget for a room that that someday...

The interviewer is the big boss at advanced nutes. He had a pretty crazy inspirational life. Read up on big mike if you are interested

I think Mcdonalds commercials make their big macs looks delicious. Fresh lettuce, tomato, onions, but when you get one it looks like someone vomited on a hamburger bun. This is no different, slick marketing aimed at a relatively knew market with inexperienced growers and they charge a premium for them. They work, but so do a thousand other brands for a fraction of the price.

i thought the setup was very neat and liked how big mike went through the details of production with him, short but informative video. This video is on AN's YouTube channel. Enough said : )

If you are buying salt based nutrients and getting it in a bottle that has water in it and not dried salts you are paying extra for the same outcome. There is no magical formula for salts , it's much less complex than organic gardening.

Idk if I'd say it's less complex than organic. A handful of manure or EWC, about this much green:brown ratio, sprinkle of egg shells, maybe some bone/ blood meal. It's kinda hard to overdo application with organics. Put in a tsp to much salt, depending on solution volume, gotta dilute or start over.

I've been trying to understand raw salts for awhile now, I definitely see the cost advantage. I just can't get my head around the different salts and when to use them, also trying to figure out application rates boggles my mind. I've just recently started to get an understanding of NPK ratios, still not 100% on that.

I like to use supernatural brand dry salt, not nearly as cheap as industrial grade salts, but very easy to use: one part veg, one part flower, and a booster for the end of flower. At a tsp per gallon its easy math. I think it was like 30 bucks for each jar or less, and i expect each to last a while, already used them for a few cycles an havent made a dent in them yet. Big frosty buds. I love organics too, but i didnt want to add 4-6 bottles worth of crap each watering.

Havent adjusted ph or anything, plants never showed stress.

I mix my own nutes, there is a thread or two that basically give you the major companies formulas. I average about 1gpw with cheap homemade lights and heat/cold issues and no CO2 With that be said, I used to use AN and got pretty much the same results, however I have seen side by side comparisons where the AN out preformed the competition a little bit, but is it worth the extra money? Also is is worth the potential of too many different products to your grow? The only time I have ever really messed up my plants was when I added too many additives to my nutes.

lol Stopped the vid at ''switching to AN doubled yield''

Even before that, who after only 3 year of growing can afford a setup like that and be skilled enough to get it fully dialed in?. I know some egotistical fker will chime in here but cmon.. it's not at all realistic for 99% of new growers. They obviously want you to think you can do it so you can buy all the sht, not their problem if you mess up the temps/humidity and lose the lot.

Big Mike will not tell you he is using the grow as a prop to sell his nutrients.

In reality 1.3 gpw is a testament to the growers and lights output ability not so much the nutrients. We all know or are the people who grow more then 1.3 gpw with any brand of nutrient , it matters little.
LED's are giving 2 to 3 grams a watt with or without AN.

I have had success with AN with 8 and 12 oz plants same with other brands of nutrients. Its all good imo
