Hey I did some planting Sunday and they looked great until yesterday until I may have over watered a little but I was having heating/drying issues because of how hot the area got. I'll attach a pic and maybe you can give your opinion on whats going on.
Running a 2 cfl 55w 2' t55 fixture from htgsupply.com. Hopefully its running good so far.
The last picture is my little area and I just wanna get some feedback on that as well

everything looks typical and fine. remember to wait until the soil is thoroughly dry before you water. the roots expand better when they have to search for water

wow quick reply! thanks for the feedback. I originall started a few sprouts with a little 25w incandescent and it did great for like 6 sprouts but i got the growlight and everything online said you can put it like 3 inches away but i didnt realize just how hot it was and the soil kept drying out too quick and they all dropped. The area closes up and when it does i think the proximity and the retained heat killed em all.so I think i went on the agressive style of watering instead but i don't wanna suffocate em either.

do the finger test and feel if the soil an inch or so diwn is moist or dry to tell when you need to water. a rule of thumb about light distances is if you can put your hand on it and not get burnt (or even feel hot) you can put it an in or two away from the plant. if the light is pretty warm to the touch you want it 3-6 in away and if it literally burns your hand put it like 6 in to a foot away from the plant or just get some cfls at that point
