i did do the water + hydrogen peroxide soak before I placed them into the soil.
I'm hoping for both male and female so I can get seeds that will probably grow ok. And to also get pollen for future experimenting.
40 yo seeds.

Yeh I feel ya. I'm going to take cuttings of this Big Bud 1989 so I can keep growing it. I want to grow this one in a 4X4 all by itself although I don't feel like transplanting from 7 gal to 15gal ppt. Idk how the hell anyone can do that. It looks really healthy; no major scrawnies like something from old seeds usually brings?

Usually the outer coating of the seeds flake off so the tiger stripes are mostly if not all gone. Although they may not have been handled and still look newer.
You ever reproduce em in seed hit me up i been looking for proper big bud without the skunk in it and everyone that sells it now dont sell the old line they all sell big skunk labelled as big bud instead of actual s1s of the pnw cut or even the salmon creek cut which is just a good old sensi one

This is what she looks like after topping a week ago. She's not really stretching her main stem yet. She's staying short. Edges of the leaves look more jaggy then strains I've grown too.

Try crushing a couple and see if there's any "meat" in them. If there is, there's hope, if they are empty or severely dried out, not so good. Drop a few in a shotglass of water, you should see them crack and little white tails emerge within a week.

I did crack two of them and clipped the pointy end with clippers on four. If that doesn't work. I'll try the sandpaper tube trick.
I've been doing research on how to revive old seeds. But most info I found is that older seeds can take longer to grow. Up to two weeks before they pop their heads up.

With some of my 30 yr old ones had a white tail come out sometimes it still had that green cover on the taproot and then they stopped growing

Paper towel germ them, Might take a while but you'll get some to pop.....40 years is a long time but they've gotten 2000 year old seeds germed before so I'm sure you can get those to pop too 
Yeah i find this happens lots with old ones they easy enough to pop just they so low on energy reserves they just give up it seems with those ones so far gone embryo rescue is the only option i think

Yep Mix it in distilled water till you hit a 25% solution, you can do this by weight, Weight out your water, divide by 4 and add that much powder to the water and mix well

Put in a shot glass of water above your oven for 1-3 days. Plant it in soil regardless if it cracks or not... It should grow.

I'm not going to try anything more until my current grow is done. I only have one grow space and it's full.
