400 watt Pineapple Chunk and Orange Bud with a side of Mexican Bag Seed

Update time, week 8 of the grow and week 1 of flower. I had a little accident this past weekend and lost 2 Bag Seed plants but the rest are growing strong.

Never seen mexi-seeds brought to fruitition. Wanna see where that goes.

Started some Blue Dream and SSH awhile ago over here. Looking to add Pacific Sour D and AC/DC within the next month to get my mother-bank off the ground.

Are you going for a perpetual harvest or just this run for now? And hows the taste for the Big Bud matchup to others you've grown? The reports that seedbanks give varies wildly from what I/my smoking circle have seen and i'm trying to figure out if maybe a cross is the way to go (who doesn't want huge yields? but it's gotta have that flavor and that kick!)
 
Interesting grow, i noticed your plants are growing very slow in comparison to the cfls im using, how far do you keep the light from the plants?
 
Plants do tend to grow slowly when you cut and bend like crazy, they are under a 400 watt HPS and it is a foot above the plants. I have had to raise the light twice a week now since going to flower.

The Big Bud x White Widow is an interesting plant, there are two definate pheno's that I know of from growing. As a cross it is very decent with a great flavor and a great high when you allow it to mature. Alot of people knock Mexican Bag Seed which is a mistake, when grown like anything else indoors it is some pretty killer weed and does not have the smell or flavor of the Shwag Bag stuff you buy off the street.

I've seen alot of people fuck up good chronic strains, so why can't it go the other way with brick?

All I know is, it's a little too much of a risk for me. Like to know what i'm gettin before I invest the time.

Part of the fun in growing is the surprize at the end with harvesting, you don't know what your going to get but it has to be better than the brick it came from cause it was cared for and fed better than the ditch it was grown in. What better way to learn with than wasting good money on expencive seeds that you know will give good bud if taken care of right.
 
Yeah that's true, whatever you crop will more than likely be a vast improvement from the source buds.

Personally, I view good genetics as the foundation for a great harvest. I like to know what i'm going to get everytime and won't even accept clones unless the person who supplies them can trace his shit.

Did you get your's from seed or clone?
 
All my stuff is from seed unless I clone it myself. Bag Seed to store bought seed the only way to go, as I don't have anyone around to trade clones with. It's safer that way.

Thanks tx I only have an advantage cause I'm out here where its legal . If you were here you'd be doing epic things ,I'm sure of it. Hell im just now upgrading to hps from cfl. I feel like a noob again looking foward to his first grow :lol:

Sorry, no it is not a Strawberrychocolope. My avatar is is a Pineapple Chunk grown in a 16 oz party cup under a 135 watt LED at 12/12 from seed and netted 16.9 grams dry.

I think you will like going to the HID side better, I can sure tell the difference between it and the CFL's. I have a plant in flower and the density of the buds has increased, as well as the volume of growth compared to the CFL's I have used before. Of course I knew I would have heat issues with the HID but running a cooltube with it helped alot and I haven't had a bit of trouble yet, I'm really likin the switch.

i grew a barneys pineapple chunk on a 600 and it finished 55-60 days and was an awsome smoke. i didnt even treat it that well ether.
