You Acid! How are you doing your cures? What do you look for as far as dryness. I've grown a strain that didn't smell much and I grew a couple that smelled bomb. But either way it smells like garbage after my "dry/cure" It smells like hay. I know how I'm fucking it up. I'm putting my buds in wet and I know that kills the smell but I was wondering if you were nailing it or what? I mean so far your 2nd grow was MUCH better than mine. I got a hermie and a fuck ton of seeds.

Bumps buddy my first two grows with autos were the same smelling freaking nicely and after drying and going into the jars they started to smell like hay.
The outside of the bud were crispy dry but the inside still kinda on the wet side.

But on my last harvest, I dry the plant for about 3-4 days (low RH) and they were ready sooner then I like but I didn't trim the plant completely I left some sugar leaves on the the plant and BAM it had that smell and the taste that we all know, and was there till the end.
I don't know if it's because I didn't trim the plant all the way but it seemed like it worked for me.

But I also use those humidity gages after the bud goes into the jars so I know aprox. what the rh is in the jar, so I can burp them as soon as I see high rh in there.

I let mine dry until the stems could snap a bit. Then I trimmed each individual bud off the stem into a jar. Burped the jars for 30 min twice a day for about a week or so. If I opened the jar and it smelled wet/funky, I kept burping another couple days. When I opened the jar and the weed smelled fresh/yummy I kept the jars closed for 3 weeks.

The bud was super smooth and had a light citrus taste. (MOC northern lights)

if you can, leave the plant in one peice (i remove large fan leaves), hang upside down for about a week or until the main stems make a snapping noise (my last plants took 5 days before they were completely dry) then i transplant to curing jars, and the moisture from deep inside the buds spreads out, but its never wet in there. I open the jars once a day for 15 minutes or so. I could open them more, to stregthen the potency, but its not been a problem for me, loevely weed, no wet smell, no hay smell

Today I had some issues with my T5 panel, I think the ballast got busted because it's firing up only two out of four bulbs.
So I was like fuck it, got my hps going plus my 125w blue cfl and I got one more blue cfl of the same wattage only part I need is a mogule base and I'm in business, so all together I'll have 250w blue cfls + 400w hps in veg and for flower, maybe for flowering I'll take one cfl out and just leave one in there for some blue spectrum.

Here are some pictures of both of the plants, the Fruity Chronic is on day 21 since she popped above the ground, and Critical Kush is on day 16.

plants are looking super healthy man, is that the FFOF soil with the lime and espoma your using. I think it was you that wanted to try out the soil i use. if it is hows it working out for you? have you had to feed at all?

Thank you Matt, yeah it's that mixture of FFOF soil with lime and espoma. I think it's working well lol didn't feed anything yet, just plain ol water and so far I had to water only three times and today when I was checking the pots they still feel kinda on the heavy side.

And I also lower the screen a bit, it was at 12" so I lowered it to 10". Both of the plant's start to smell very nicely :weed:

I am def gonna grow some FCJ this summer.

I wish I could start sooner, but I have a bun in the oven. lol

Yeah she looks so nice :weed: she's short compact with some fat leaves and from I hear she is some BOMB smoke, she still has some time to go before I flip her to 12/12 she's on 3rd week of veg. so I was thinking maybe 3 more weeks before I can flip.

You mean you prego? ;) if so congrats.

yah prego.

If I started now, I would have to trim the buds right after birth... don't feel like spending hours doing that lol.
