Wow, short sighted indeed. I think it's you who is short sighted, dont be so para. In a few months the site will be back to normal and i expect all will be forgotten about. There is no safe place to tell the world you are growing pot. FFS there are greater crimes in the world imo. Anyone posting on a pot growing forum has to accept that any of their data can be monitored and traced, if someone really wants to get you. If you dont want busted, dont grow pot or certainly dont use the internet to advertise the fact. Its silly really when you consider moving to another site, will that be safe, I think not. Have a dooby and relax folks, no need for name calling. I lost data too, nearly my whole thread, i reposted, no biggie.
If you really are leaving Matt then i wish you the best and i understand why but my advice, if your family is your main priority, is to give up the weed.

If I go anywhere else it will be because I'm just sick of losing my data, time etc. I stand by my "people will not get over it" remark as I was referring to RIU's total lack of keeping recent backups. Keep losing people data and sooner or later they will leave.

i love being paranoid. its fun. lol i had a blast freaking out for like ten minutes when i realized i lost half my thread. didnt help that i blazed before checking my thread...lol

This is only to help!
you should get a computer fan blowing across those cfl's, I imagine the ballast on the CFL's are hot as fuck, after a year or so the plastic gets thermal stress and begins to decay and discolour.
This can cause a fire easily when they are this hot for so long, so i recommend airflow being blown across the CFI's.
Also I saw your wire connections being used without zip ties (end of red wire, zip tie both of the connection lines together to prevent movement at the vertex),
you HAVE to have this zip tied because of the hood movement, easily burn your house down when a connection comes loose.
Just watching out for your grow bro, if you wanna risk it go ahead but better safe then sorry when it comes to safely routing power.

I got to thinking and decided that in me and my familys best interest journaling needs to go . with all the BS going on on this site the feeling of "being safe" has been compromised. I wish everyone the best of luck on thier grows.

not scared, just taking my priorities firstwell over 60+ pages of my journal gone. and heres what i have to say about it
I dont quite buy thier story. they claim that they dont backup verry often due to security reasons, they dont want the files traveling over the internet too often. sure sounds good but theres no reason they can backup the files to another server on a intranet network (a network that is only shared among the company's files and is not hooked up to the internet)
i dunno i just dont buy it
they should be doing 1 big backup every week or at least keeping a solid backup and adding anything that wasnt backed up before to it every week (less data to write)
i think i may be done with this site, the shit that has been going on lately has been a bit sketchy and now they accidently lost a months worth of data?!?!?! this is basic shit when you run a server never mind one as big as RIU.
also did any of you notice that RIU stopped advertising for the attitude seed bank and now is advertising for credit card companys? i think they are selling out!!

FYI, Attitude recently permanently ended their affiliate program because some of their affiliates where cheating the system, but they couldn't stop it or figure out who it was. I assume this site needs money to survive, so they have new advertisers.

they should advertise for sanniesseeds imo, companies like the attitude and sea of seeds arent straight from the breeder which makes me question ordering seeds sometimes. but if wicken defender's paying the big bucks who cares really.
