48 hours of darkness b4 harvest

Another topic with absolutely no merit. 48 hours darkness does not do anything with regards to trichome development that wouldn't have occurred with normal light hours.

Those that think it does have just convinced themselves that there is some benefit because that's what they want to believe. Placebo effect etc...

Have you ever tried it?
Actually I have done this but not for the ridiculous claims …

During last days before chop , I wet trim them ( death row haircut ) and zip them up until I decide when to cut them …. They are in the dark in a half dried out container ( based on last watering ) ALSO drying and dying. I’ve left plants up to a week in the dark just drying itself out “ in pot “ .
This way I cut or let dry as I feel like .

I know it sounds like bro science, but I don't have a fully closed mind.

Do you notice any difference between the ones harvested sooner rather than later?

How big are the plants, because it would be a bitch to do that with mine?

i allways herd of the 24-36 hours of darkness to push the resin, but the same guy who taught me that used to plunge the roots into boiling water to do the same thing
the darkness i can get my head around, but the boiling water allways puzzeled me

I don’t do it for anything other than convenience - plants are in dark with extraction fan going ( passive inlet ) just trimmed in pot. That Berta auto i dropped last month had to be brought down the regular way except i broke down all colas to dry on mesh racks . The rack went back in same tent just now shutdown .
Hygrometer set in rack , tent zipped and RH monitored. Roll buds around to stop flat spots and thats it.

Plants do express more fragrance but couldn’t tell you anything different than that. I do perpetuals so i am harvesting every 3 weeks give or take and really am not looking to test anything ….. weed is for me , wifey and 2 cats ( sativa and indica ).

My guess would be that the smell would be better if this shit is for real. But it kinda makes sense. So I'm not gonna discredit it without trying it first.

Any pics of your plants?

Also rolling buds around to prevent flat spots isn't my thing

Growers gonna do whatever they want regardless fact or myth …

Some people believe in santa claus …. To each their own I guess .

I just have few in early flower - Ethos and Master Kush was last chop recently. Posted that shit on frosty thread . Had 2 KKP go male ( killed them ) and left with a 2 KKP ( king poison ) fems and SUPAFLY ( super silver haze x DJ short Flo F5 ) which will give up some cuttings. So i am down a couple plants because of the males .

Banana Kush getting seeds soaked next

But you just said:

I was genuinely curious, but this is obviously a touchy subject, :bigjoint:

I experimented doing all this hoodoo voodoo shit back in the day. And yeah, i read about it somewhere. Absolutely makes zero difference, or at least a noticeable one.
I chop down whenever and however the fuck is convenient for me. That’s usually pulling plants out of the bloom room towards the end of their light cycle, my morning, to be chopped that day. Chopped down. Chopped up. Fan leaves plucked on the lines they go.
I’m the boss of them bitches not the other way around.

Ya, I've always just chopped when I felt like it. Usually it's in the middle of the light cycle.

I've done some Voodoo experiments too. Be careful,.
