you can definately use the 150 for vegging but mhs have more of the blue spectrum the the plants use for growing. Here's why I suggested the some cfls: You can get ample light for seedlings and clones, you could get some extra blue light and lumens, and you use less electricity. For instance I have 2 27 watt cfls that are pushing over 3000 lumens. So I'm only using 54 watts because they don't really need intense light for the first couple weeks. They are only like 5$ or maybe 10$ for a 42 watt. Remember that for every foot away from the bulb you lose lumens exponentially so they can be used to add light to some of the lower branches, more light =more bigger buds.
As far as the DWC if your worried about removing the lid heres what you do, at the bottom of the reservoir insert a tube that has a plug in it and cut a hole in the top of the lid where you can add your reservoir. That way if you wantto check your reservoir just unplug the tube and drain your reservoir as needed and fill from the top(cover the hole so the light doesn't get in the water) Your still going to have to remove the lid with the plants to clean the reservoir so if your worried about it just get 2 tubs and just swap it when you clean or something.
