Sleezy, I just set up the 500w blackstar, it is crazy bright and crazy pink. I went blind when it turned out. I had to set up my t-5 in there to be able to see, but the plants seem to love it. Now I will be running the 240w and 500w in flowering and t5 in veg. These lights make so much sound that my downstairs neighbor complains at night during my veg cycle, but flowering is 10-10 so I guess im using both in the tent.
Loud? Really? That's the first I have ever heard that! I can't imagine your lights being loud! I have 2 500s in the room next to my bedroom and my gf doesn't even know I grow, until I showed her last week. Your neighbor must have superhuman hearing, cuz I barely hear anything

My neighbor is just incredibly picky. The whole house HAS to be quite past 10. When I mean quite, I mean I had to take my TINY air pump out of my newts tank because it made vibrations, what's the best way to cancel vibrations? Any suggestions?

Get yourself a vibe pad - or make yourself one to dampen the vibration and absorb it. They come in various densities.

i feel your pain broken turtle i also have problems with that but its more my floor fan and fan filter combo that are really loudish lol , hard to believe i know sleezy i hardly could believe it myself when i got my first warning ..... the worst part is its not even all that hot where i live and there is no real reason to have fans going all the time ..... sketchy lol

Curly, I had to sell my 400w setup, because my floor fans and fan/filter combo both made too much noise. I also sold my 700cfh fan and instead put in a 130cfh. I switched to my LEDs instead. I'm glad the dude pushed me to switch, because I am very happy with them so far. Tonight, I had to unplug my cloner because the water pump made too much sound. What's next? My fridge? He was complaining about it but I told him it was his fridge.

Simple solution Broken Turtle. Get the following items:

Chloroform, Plastic jump suit used to lose weight, Disposable gloves, shower cap, bruno magli shoes, an axe, a sharp razor blade, lime, shovel, weighted chains, vacuum cleaner, a rented moving truck, a rowboat.

Sneek into that fucks apartment while he is sleeping and put some chloroform over his face, knocking him out. Drag his body to the bathroom and dump him in the bathtub with his head facing the drain. Slit that fucks throat with a razor blade while the water is running. Drain all the blood from the body (make take 3 hours), while raising the feet over the head so all the blood drains properly. Dismember the body with your axe, separating the Head, torso, arms and legs. Package it all up in thick black trash bags. Move the body in pieces into your rented truck, lined with painters plastic. Go back to that asshole's apartment and thoroughly vacuum the house, and bleach the bathroom 5 times. Burn your outfit and shoes in a remote area. Dump the torso in a lime filled grave. Take your rowboat to the ocean and dump the weighted arms, heads, legs. Burn the painter's plastic and take a bath in bleach, and water mixture. Sit back and smoke a joint with your fans on at full blast and your lights on. Hope this helps

subbed im a 240 blackstar user and also a kessil user, impressive grow, i wonder, take no offense to this please but out of curiousity from my personal experience with led's so far i've noticed that anything over about 300 actual watts is overkill because its just too much light, somewhat like the dilemma if you were to buy say an hps and have to choose between 1k or 600w lamps. Id go with 6ooS and more of them like what you did with your panels multiples instead of one higher wattage one. I was wondering if you can corroberate my findings at all. I've noticed i get better coverage and yield with a slightly less wattage panels than say an actual draw of 5-600 Watts draw from one panel covering the same area. Lookin good so far man. hint for led growing in general, they LOVE scrog setups because you get all top nug and even though most penetration issues have been worked out i still feel like led's respond better to scrog style grows than taller vert grows. That being said your girls look lovely

Hey Kaptain, I see what you are saying about the wattage of lights for plants. From personal experience, having 14 day old seedlings, within 2 days of me putting my 500w flowering LED blackstar into flowering tent, my guys started showing sex. I ws shocked! I thought it was too much red spectrum light as well so I put in the 240w grow led blackstar, and now they seem awesome! They are growing very well. Most of them look dark black in the light. I topped one of them and will be topping the rest because I agree with what you said about led's liking scrog. I will be making sog with some topped planted on risen stands and some non-topped lstd plants.

I have SCROGGED before using my LEDs, I am now experimenting to see how well these lights penetrate without using a SCROG. I will SCROG again in the future, because it is the best for yield and for the LED lights

SO guys, here is my last update for at least a week. My house sitter will be watering the girls while I am gone, hopefully I will have plants when I get back  The girls are all around 32-34 inches tall now.

I have everything simple for the sitter. I have premeasured 3 feedings for the girls. No fuckups here. Just water on time, everything else is on timers!

Hydro is way more forgiving? Far LESS forgiving man,any mistake can kill your plants in hours... soil plants can go days without water or food...oh well, whatever you think.

Keep up the good work OP!

your trippin lol, you over feed in hydro say goodbye to your plants in one day lol. You over feed with soil give em a good flush and your fine lol hydro is not forgiving its a science man.
Yee-haw! Another hydro vs. soil back and forth.

I would say soil goes at a slower pace, which is good (in a sense) for beginners. But if a mistake is made, it takes longer to show on the plant, and any remedy applied also takes effect at a slower rate.

With hydro, everything is more immediate. The plants grow much faster and so, like you said, mistakes take effect faster. The upside of that is any remedy applied also takes effect much faster.

I think once a person has a good handle on the basics of hydro growing, it can be more forgiving than soil for the simple fact that you have more precise control of your plant's conditions.

Hydro is for people who can't grow in soil and need meters to tell them what their plants need ;) A 15-20% increase in veg time isn't really anything to write home about...

I'll admit to that. I'm incompetent with soil. But how many hydro growers you know "graduate" to soil? It's always the other way around. Once you get wet, you never turn back.

I can't really buy into a blanket figure like 15-20% increase in veg time. There's too much variance in terms of strain, grow environment, feed, etc. Not to say that ball-park estimate isn't accurate, but even 20% of any figure is nothing to sneeze at. And I think the true tale of the difference between hydro and soil is told during flower. How about a 15-20% increase in overall yield? Sound good to anyone?

Edit:

but I never take anything away from good soil growers (like Sleeze). I'll say soil is like a classic Harley and Hydro is a hi-tech super bike.
