Hey Gaius and Slipon, just a question as have never used T5's for vegging. I've found (and like) the LED's great for vegging, one of the reasons is that the LED's seem to grow very tight nodes. How do you find the T5 node spacing? I noticed my son using some T5's for growing out some seeds recently and his node spacing seems quite a bit further apart but could be the strain he's growing...

Is he maybe pushing the the lights-on time long? I found more stretch occurs when you go 24/7 or 20/4. 18/6 Seems to be the sweet spot. Nodes on my T5 vegging grows have always been nice and tight.

Here's a photo of my healthy T5-vegged Bubbas:

The leaves were effin ginormous.

You're right, he had them 24/0 for 4 weeks, likely made the difference. Those plants look great, nice and tight/dense, sweet... Will pass on the tip thanks.

could be strain related, or his distance from the T5 was to fare (or old Tube`s ?) the thing with fluorescent light is that its weak in terms of penetration, it quickly loose its intensity, so the plant will stretch for the strong light if put/keeped to fare away, I found that with my T5HO tubes 49W (the 5" type) they do best at 2-6 inch`s (also according to my light meter, that only get a good reading at that distance and after 12" don't even get a reading) keep em at 4-6" from the tops and let em grow up to 2" (at some stages its a daily "work") before moving the light/plant`s, LST or a Scrog work great with T5s if you use em all the way as you need to keep them Bud`s close

Thanks for the input, he had the lights close, like 4-5 inches, more likely the strain. I'll grab some clones off him at some point and do a side-by-side with him to see if there's any difference.

got the t5 ordered yesterday morning so it should be here friday. Took a cutting from the Amherst Sour Diesel for a clone, trying molasses instead of cloning gel or powder just to see if it works.

T5's are a great way to go for vegging. I do it all the time (except 1 I have under a Hans panel). I also use molasses a few times a grow. I know some people that flower with them too. Plant's are looking good. It's all good.

I've used t5's for my last 2 grows for vegging and flowering with decent results, I know they'll work good for vegging I was just trying to decide wether to keep it all led's or throw the t5 in their for vegging since money's a little tight lol. This grow I'm using nothing but molasses for nutes but have never tried it for cloning so I figured I'd give it a try. If it works it's a cheaper more organic solution that using cloning gel or powder

Here's to hoping it works

I read you could use bee honey as cloning gel ?

dunno, as Im in no hurry I just cut em and place em in a cup of tap water, normally they root in a week or so, some strains take up to two, but I don't use any dome and the humidity is normally around 40%

works for me, keep it simple

I've read that you can use honey but I've never tried it either, took a cutting from the Flo to try the tap water method as well. Boredom and ideas have caused me to build another veg room, the idea being the I can have 1 to start the seeds and clones off in for about 2 weeks with the lights running 24/0 and then switch em to the other running 18/6

Note to self, check to make sure the pizza is still good. Woke up this morning sicker than shit, pretty sure it was the pizza I ate yesterday. Was going to take some pictures of the girls but I was doing good just to get up and water them then jump right back in bed. The T5 is suppose to be here tomorrow so I can get my veg room going and possibly start flowering a few of the beauties. The veg room i just built is larger than my original above my flowering room so I'm thinking about expanding the flower room to the entire closet so I can grow some big girls if I want. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow and snap some pics before I go to work

Feeling better today, got the flower room expanded to the entire closet so now I've got more head room. The girls were overtaking their pots so I just took loose everything for LSTing and I'm letting 'em run free now.

Looking great hillbilly, glad to see you got some more head room, they're growing nicely!

Just curious, didn't see it anywhere, what size pots are they in?

Well the Amherst Sour Diesel and the baby Flo are in 5 gallon grow bags and the other 3 are in 3 gallon pots. I need to get some bigger pots but I've just kept putting it off, also need to get some more soil. The grow bags I poked small holes all threw 'em to more air can make it in. I also just transplanted one of the bubba kush into a 5 gallon grow bag, would do the other 2 but I'm a little short on soil at the moment

They seem really happy, especially after I started feeding them the molasses. got the t5 in and setup today, put the 2 Flos in the veg room and set the timer to start flowering the Amherst sour diesel and the 2 Bubba Kush. I'll snap a few pics and post em once I get home

well I got home too late, the girls in the flower room had just gone to bed and the girls in the veg room were getting a little warm so I had to address that issue. Just cut another hole in the mylar covering my window, put a vent flange in it, and attached the intake ducting to it. Temps are holding steady between 79 and 80 now so they should be good to go and they're fixing to go to bed as well. I'll snap some pics in the morning before I go to work if I remember to

Was looking at a aeroponic system on ebay, really good price and pretty simple setup. The only thing that concerns me is there's no timer to have the pump run for a certain amount of time then shut off for a certain amount of time. I've read that having it run for about a minute and then shut off for about 5 minutes is ideal but I've never used an aeroponics setup so I wouldn't know. The extra timer I currently have will only let you program 8 settings so it wouldn't do for that application and one from growtronix that you can program with your computer to do whatever you want it to is $100. I really want to do an aeroponics setup, just looking for a little advice on the situation

My question was pretty much answered on stinkbuds aeroponics thread, just gonna buy the $100 timer from growtronix once I get the money for everything else I need
