Statik - Stupid question... Are your lower leaves starting to drop fast at this stage? How long do you think your going to flower for (8-12 weeks)? We're going on 6 weeks now:)
I am noticing some leaves here and there. I think for me though it's the pH being off a bit. I just fed with full strength nutes a few days ago, when I went to take a peak yesterday the phos defs had progressed?!

Checked their pH and it's not horrible, but it could be lowered a bit. So my guess is that my plants are trying to tell me that they want more, and the slight pH issue is enough to bring things to a noticeable level.

I think I am going to let them go no longer than 10 weeks. I have other plans for the tent.

Statik, nice looking grow. How are those Hermies making out? how many do you have in total (hermies) I am on Day 21 and just discovered 4 of 12 of my plants are hermies. I have treated them with reverse and put a styrofoam barrier between them and the non affected plants. My hermies are producing nice buds and I am trying my best to remove any of the balls and flowers that Isee, I am hoping that the REVERSE kills of all of that. It is reassuring to read a grow where someone else had hermies after nice bud had already developed and didnt want to get rid of them. Are you familiar with Dutch Master Reverse? If so did you try using it?

That's really your call. Coverage vs penetration. I'd go with the two 1000W myself. I have only seen the nextgens in operation. They seem very nice and work fine. The fans are a bit loud.

Hey thanks. Let me think, I had 4 or 5 in the hut recently. One, I plucked two pollen sacs off of over 2 weeks ago and nothing remotely sac or banana looking pop up since. (My purple extreme from the club)

Another I plucked a handful of male flowers off of, and have found 2 in the last couple weeks. (Doctor Who)

My PK has had a few male flower starts here and there, but it is seriously about 98% female and soooo worth holding onto.

I'll be taking pics later, you guys will see what I mean. (I will be hitting clones of this strain with the Dutch Master Reverse you mentioned). No I had not heard of it until now. :joint:

The smaller of the two Green Tea's that hermied was popping bananas like mad again! So I lopped it last night actually. Not dealing with that noise in my tent. Wet weight was lower than I had hoped, by the 1/4 dry weight rule it will be just under a quarter... but it's a sativa that was plucked at least close to a month early.

ur plants r looking good dude!..
Why thank ya Gnome. bongsmilie New pics coming later tonight or tomorrow sometime. I'm taking care of some things with them today so I'll snap some shots while I'm at it. Looking MUCH better than the last update IMO. How are things in your tent going? Been a while since I seen an update on your thread.

I would go the three 600's myself to be honest. But I am all about more points of light and being able to keep my lights as close as possible to the canopy.

1000's are great, love them too. I am just biased towards more points of light.

See, just like Caz says...it's your call. One grower will go for the added light penetration from the 1000's. Another will choose more points of light closer to plants.

In the end, its whats best suited to your setup (ie space, average temps etc) and what produces the best results for your growing style.

I'm pretty sure statik flipped to 12/12 on 01-01-10

statik, hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread. I'll just add pertinent info mostly. Let me know if I'm in the way no disrespect intended.

No worries Cazador. I dont mind at all as long as the info shared is of benefit...to me or anyone else. Kind of what this site is supposed to be about isn't it?

In other words...

Have fun man. :joint:

Oh and you are correct, I flipped on 1-1-10. So I am entering week 7 of flower in a couple days here Gnome.

Although, I have noticed some people don't count the first week of 12/12...cause they are not really "flowering" at that point. Do you guys think I should go by that?

If so...then I am just coming into week 6...and my clones are gonna be BEASTS by the time I pull the ones in the tent.

By no means have I over loved these plants. What happened was I ran into a plethora of issues that with a little bit of advice from the guys at the hydro store...I could have easily avoided.

They were there with me from the start of putting this all together. The original mix I was in was way hotter than I had anticipated. So I went through stunting issues with over ferting.

The nute line I am using a pretty new. Look around on the forum, people are still asking questions as how to use it properly. Turns out I am not supposed to raise the pH of my nutes. They pretty much do it on there own over time in the medium. I had to figure this out on my own pretty much.

So these plants have really only had proper pH locked in for a few weeks. Terror's thread on the GO line was a help for sure.

Once again that mix I was first in was INFESTED with fungus gnats. So the roots were being gnawed on pretty much from day 1 of sprout. Finally got them bastards under control a few weeks ago.

Another I issue I had was grow bags, some people love them. They nearly drowned all of my plants. I would wait a week or more between watering...and they would still be SOAKED.

As soon as I quit listening to what people were trying to tell me...and just went with what I knowledge I already had and had found on this site (among others) my plants have been doing MUCH better.

So like I said, by no means have I over loved these plants.

EDIT:

BTW, I am in COCO. No nutes till flower would kill plants.

Hey statik the guys at my local hydro store told me that the pots i was using were too big. I'm using 4 and 5 gallon pots, they said they were too big for my 400 watt light is this true anyone have heard of this? so they suggested these smaller pots i believe they are a little under 2 gallons what do you think of this?

The thing is i was there buying 4 gallon square pots and bought them then the owner tells me "wait a minute what size lamp are you using?" I told him 400 watt he said the pots were too big so he suggested the smaller ones and even refunded me 27 dollars back because the smaller ones were cheaper.

Well, if have too many large buckets for your lights footprint..yes that makes sense. It;s not normal for a hydro guy to want you to spend less money in their store.

I am so glad I found another store (closer to the grow even). The place is literally 4 - 5 times larger than the place I was going to.

LMAO, come to think about it one of the first things an employee said to me (at the new store) when I told him I was using the GO line was that I shouldn't play with the pH. Funny thing is...they don't even carry that line. ;-)

I'd do some hunting around on that info Terror, but if you were buying a good # of large buckets and trying to shove them under that 400w...your hydro guy did you a favor buy suggesting smaller pots.

That way you can still fit the # of plants you wanted.

All a guess on my part though.

Alright, back from my break.

These pics are from 1-1-2010. The first day I switched to flower. I put in my 600w hps (You can even see the light coming on for the first time in one of these pics). I dropped in the new floor (upside down 2 liter soda crates). I also had started to cull out males. Some at this point were not developed enough for me to tell what sex they were.

So I went through and tagged each one with the suspected sex, then kept a close eye on them. I found out later I was pretty much 90% accurate with that.

In some of these pics you will see the "smart bungees" I am using to hold some of the stuff to the ceiling. I must admit they are pretty cool. I can create all kinds of crazy connections/lengths.

I am pretty sure at this point (although you cant see it) I was transplanting known females into 3.2 gallon square pots in the 50/50 CoCo/perlite mix. I wanted to transplant them all, but did not want to waste the time and effort transplanting males.

Anyway, thats about it for this chunk of update I believe. These poor plants, they have sadly only had bursts of proper pH. Makes me wonder what they would look like if they would have had an easier life. :wall:

Stepping off again for a little bit. Then I have some pics that were taken today...finally gonna be all caught up!
What size grow tent is that?
