Good Luck to everyone, Happy Growing..
This will be interesting to watch, never seen anyone grow under a Marine reef LED. To be honest I have always thought about playing around with some of my Aquarium Lights, but think I will leave that for another day and not for a competition.

Actually I apologize, I was not aware that Kessil made horticulture lights, I thought they were strictly Marine tanks which is what prompted me to post that, then I saw that your kessil was missing a knob and went and googled Kessil and learned something new today.....

Yeah I just found that out, I am a marine reefer and I see people arguing over Kessil and Radions all the time, as to which is better. I never actually went and looked at their website as I am a Radion person as I love the programming that is built into them to mimic sunrise and sunset by a built in auto dimmer inside the lights

Ok, My germ post. I some how misplaced my Blue dream x blue dream and blue dream x ??? I was thinking of running, so now running critical impact as pictured.

Germ method: wet paper towel in tupper ware on top of warm t5 fixture. Then as soon as they have tails going into Rock wool in the cups.

Media: Using expanded clay pellets with rock wool as the start. With air stones in the bottom of the cup. No holes in bottom so no concerns of roots leaving the cup.

Nutes: GH maxi grow and Maxi bloom. I plan to feed KISS. I have a premix of the two I run in my normal hydro. 3 bags maxi bloom, one bag maxi grow mixed up. I also feed molasses.

Light source(s): will be running the 12/12 they will be off to the side in my bloom room which is about 5 ft x 12 ft. These plants will be directly under a 300w ebay LED fixture ( actual draw 96w) In keeping with the rules I will mention the other side of the bloom room has a 1000w trifecta HPS and minimal side lighting 24” single bulb t5's . The party cup plants/plant ( after culling) will have minimal exposure to those lighting sources as well.

Seeds got wet (today internet is down, but typing up in open office) 2-3-15, I will post update with photos when they have tails and are in rock wool. Or one week which ever comes first.

If there is an issue with anything in this please let me know before they get cracked . ( read the rules, and got some clarification in the registration threadIMG_20150202_212038_651.jpg IMG_20150202_212052_232.jpg IMG_20150202_212108_313.jpg IMG_20150202_215611_631.jpg ) This is my first rodeo. So Polite and positive guidance is welcome. Good grow wishes to all competing and reading.

lol...it usually woundn't mean anything, but this is a competition where those extra 2 ounces are like 13% total root space increase over the 16oz cups...(stoned math...someone with a 5th grade education wanna correct me?) That extra 2oz definitely makes a difference.

Put the soil/seedlings in 16 oz cups, and I'll turn a blind eye...maybe everyone else will, too.

I think I will just sit back and watch this contest.. it was my stupid mistake but live and learn.. Now I know, next time check the bottom of the cup..

Ok...I'm a skeptic...After looking over the Walmart website, I can't find any 16oz Square Solo Cups...Mind posting a pic of the bottom of one of those cups, brah?

Or at least provide a link to some 16oz square solo cups, cause I can't find any...

Cause I'm pretty sure Solo doesn't make a 16oz SQUARE cup, only 18oz...But please, feel free to prove me wrong.

all round cups were made before 2009. In 2009 solo changed all red cups to square cups.

I'm not arguing that, but the square ones are 18oz cups.

Here's a link to purchase 16oz Solo cups, but they're ROUND bottom...

Please, find me some 16oz SQUARE bottom solo cups...not the 18oz ones. I'm not saying I'm definitely right, and will admit error if proven wrong...But this was an issue last competition, and is turning into an issue this time around as well.

reread what you just posted. Its a contradiction if all red cups that are made after 2009 are square. The means the all sizes are are square. They haven't made any round red cups in 5 years.

I don't see any where in that article about them maintaining the 16oz measurement. It just states that they squared the classic cup. For all I know it could be 15oz or it could be 18oz.
its implied. It says they change the design of the red cups to.distinguish from other brands. So.why would they still make round ones. There several companies that male party cups. I see more kirkland cups than solo cups in the store these days. Its self explanatory. Cococola was in the last comp too. Been on this forum for.a long time
I highly doubt he would cheat.

Sorry should have added, in theory if you take same cup (which is same height and width at the lip), take the round bottom and put corners on it, you have just created more surface area, and in turn you would have increased the volume

Then they don't make a 16oz cup anymore. I posted a link to purchase round bottom 16oz Solo brand cups...Find me some 16oz SQUARE bottom Solo brand cups.

I don't get the issue? I said he's using the wrong cups. I didn't say he needed solo brand 16oz cups, and if Solo onlly makes a square bottom cup, then they're all 18oz.

Once more, please find me these elusive 16oz Square Solo cups.,,I don't think they exist, Implying that his cups are indeed 18oz, a violation of the rules.

I thought I was pretty straightforward...Where's the confusion?
