You can set that sample cutting on a CFL and it will dry up in like an hour or less.
Just remember to turn it every 20 min. or so.
I've tried a few quick dry methods and this seems to work best for small samples.
Thanks for the idea but im letting her dry slowly and correctly because i've never liked quick-dry methods.

Anyways, im going to buy a dehumidifier tonight and put it in my room.

I'll take pictures tonight.

:peace:

Nice grow....

Did you end up using the 400w and if so did you have a different ballast to match the power?

I don't think any one said anything about how they looked a bit streched, the noddes look far apart. how far away was the light from the top of the plants ?

Have you been flushing this past wk?

I have one of the radio shack scoops and the best way I was able to see the goodies was to press slightly firmly on a bud with lots of magic dust and start to focus and at the same time move the scoop little by little.

Peace=

Oh,,, one more thing that I read once or twice. Once the tricomes turn that amber color the effect will disapate, the thc starts to break down. Just the 2cents .

Hey Logan.
I am using a 400mh with my Lumatek digital ballast (600w max)

It is a stretchy plant for sure. I had the lights about 12 inches from the tops of the plants.

I have been flushing the past 2+ weeks.

I plan on harvest before the majority of the trichs are amber. Right now they're about 80% cloudy 20% clear.

I am very very upset. I found out my biggest cola has a tiny tiny bit of rot at the bottom. So I chopped her early. I still have tons and tons of bud in the garage that is rot-free. I turned up the fan and hope not to have any more. I am upset because how premature my big cola is.

looks good though
Thanks. Everything I chopped thus far doesn't even look half as good as everything I left in the room.

Today is day 70 ill let them go a little longer and then chop them. I think im going to water super heavy tonight and when they become bone-dry ill harvest them.

Hey atleast we're together now. I didnt lose to much bud to rot but it made me harvest about an ounce early, which im not to thrilled about.

I watered for the last time tonight. I'm going to let them get bone-dry and harvest them in 3 days.

The pics above is all I have harvested thus far.

Yes the ballast works with anything upto 600w, and both MH/HPS.

Its a Lumatek 600w 120v Digital Ballast. I love it.

Why do you love this ballast? What is it about this ballast that makes it "great" in your opinion?

I'm putting up a new setup and I'm going to run dual 600's and I'm considering these as of course they are the cheap ones out there on ebay. My concern is that you have blown MULTIPLE bulbs in your first grow which is nearly unheard of. You don't think it could be related to the cheap ballasts?

What color is your Lumatek ? I was reading on this forum earlier this week <I wish I could remember the thread, only to get the blue or purple ballasts and not any other color < the other colors are the older models and apparently the older models have lots of problems...Im going to look around and see if I can find the thread.

That would be much appreciated. I'm looking at these right now, but I don't need headaches. I'd rather drop the extra $$$ now if that's what needs to be done.

That is the TRUTH!! The older ballast (I think silver) had problems, but mine are PURPLE!

The purple ones are the newest generation ones and seem to be pretty much perfect!

I love the ballast because I can run literally any bulb besides 1000w and it will be fine. The ballast are dead-quiet and the start-up seems to be very quick and efficient.

Cheap ballast? I was under the impression Lumatek is some of the best out there right now. I got a hell of a deal on mine but at my local hydro store they retail for about 260+.

Hey Boomer. Yes, I started with 12 3 gallon pots under 1 light until they got to big for there space. I spread them apart for about 1 week of veg and then made the flip to 12/12.

They defiently out grew the most efficient part of the light but it didnt seem to make a difference as I have good solid big nugs around the edges of the canopy as well as in the middle of the canopy.

Right now they are all seperated at different ways, I basically just made a puzzle out of my plants. Although they got to heavy and started leaning on each other and causing ultra high-humidity, and thats where I got my little bit of rot.

Anyways, 4x4 canopy typically for a 1000w and about 3x3 a little bigger for 600ws. Try to set the lamps close enough to over-lap your light but not too close where ur wasting grow space.

Niiice...it's been a long time coming and you deserve this. I would harvest that "knot" of buds right away before you get more rot...just not worth it.

I sent an e-mail to lumatek and the response I got said that the problem wasn't that the ballast is bad, it just doesn't work well with "high end" bulbs.

These ballasts are designed to fire the bulbs @ 5,000 - 6,000 watts which is the norm for HPS and MH bulbs, but the higher end bulbs now are designed to fire at 1500 - 1200w and so they get friend in as little as 14 hours, but quite often under 3 months....so the good news, buy the Lumatek, use the cheaper bulbs and everything will work just fine!

I looked yesterday and again today and I can't find the thread... Sorry :( It kinda pisses me off I cant find it because it had some decent info but here is something I came across while looking that may help you figure out what you want. https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/184922-digital-ballast-vs-regular-ballast.html
anyways hope it helps! Also my friend has 3 600 watt lumatek purple ballasts and they have worked great so far for him. I am looking to upgrade too in my next grow or the grow after and from what I have read the quantum ballasts have problems cause of the fan. Have you got your hoods yet for them ? These are the hoods Im getting next time around http://www.growlightexpress.com/grow-light-reflectors-4/super-sun-2-reflector-43.html and here are test results of multiple hoods http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=51325
