95 degrees too hot? Why isn't my ventilation working better?

Everyone keeps suggesting another fan, but there's just no way possible I can take on anymore noise whatsoever.. It's way way way too loud as it is.

If there's no other way I would rather just get rid of the filter and concentrate more on heat and noise than smell.

Speaking of noise, is it safe to wrap my inline fan in dynamat to quiet it some? I'm afraid that it already gets really hot, I don't want to trap more heat in it and break something..
You do realize that that 8" inline fan has a decible reading way higher than 6 inchers. You may be able to go to 2 six inch fans and still reduce the noise. When you throttle down an inline fan you lose about 30-40% and the air flow becomes louder. Thats just one diameter size difference! A 6" inline on a filter just in the room will make little noise if you box it up.

Thats what I would try but its easy spending someone elses money!:-P

I would run the carbon filter to the inline fan with rigid aluminum ducting and then the inline fan to your hood/exhaust. It's easier for the fan to suck air through the carbon filter/aluminum ducting then push the air through your light rather than having to suck air through the whole system.

forgive me if it has been mentioned but i only read the first post.

you are using a 1000w in a .8m2 space. that is your problem, a 600 would be overkill but a 1000w is just way too powerful.

either get a bigger tent or downgrade your lights, also running at night is an obv way to keep temps in check

Two issues:

1: Noise: Build a plywood box around your inline fan and pad it with insulation; place a flange on either side to connect it to the ducting and noise is reduced over 75% (some say 90%).

2: Heat: Blue Dream is a haze descendant and a regular for Cali growers, both indoors and out. It will easily grow without signs of heat stress at temps up to 95 and humidity as low as 50%, just be sure to have very good air circulation in your tent-

Are you guys ready to hear about an ultimate stoner moment? My problem is solved...

When I was initially laying out the tent I decided to just leave the plastic wrap on the carbon filter and I threw the dust sock over it and hung it up just to fit everything into place while I was waiting on more parts. I left the plastic wrap on even saying in my own head don't forget to take this off later, but leave it on now to keep a bunch of loose carbon from going everywhere while I'm fitting everything in place.

Needless to say, I forgot to take the plastic wrap off and hooked everything together. It was like trying to suck air through a capped straw... I took the plastic wrap off and now the fan isn't smoking hot and running much quieter. Hopefully I didn't damage my fan? The heat is exhausting like a pro.. I can keep the door shut on the tent and hold a steady 83-85F. Haha, guess that's what I get for putting shit together when I'm baked out of my mind. :bigjoint:

Oh man, that's fucking priceless. You left the plastic on? Pure stoner moment but at least you found out before your whole place stunk like hell. Now you can get both, cooler temps AND odor scrubbing. Nice detective work.

Oh, and your handle is very fitting. Especially in this situation.

Dood, I've made some really expensive stoner mistakes in my room. You should be fine. My friends wife made some cookies with our hash pile. I munched one of those tonight and knew I needed to leave.

I'm laughing pretty hard about it now that everything seems to be working fine. I'm just glad I figured it out sooner than later!

True, I know in AZ Mexican Sativas do very well outdoors even when temps reach 112 degrees outside.

I'm kinda having the same problem lol but not with the plastic around the filter that's great I probly would have done that to!! I have a growlabs 1.5x1.5x4' I have a DIY fan pulling air out thro a carbon fan pretty good suction on it then I have a fan hooked up to a 150w cool hood, I have a 6-8" Honeywell 3 speed fan on the floor pulling air from the tent window and 4" hole next to it and the fan is blowing on the hood, the hood and glass r cool to the touch and the air around it is warm but under the fan it can get in the mid 90s and my room temp stays about 80

Too funny. Never work on serious shit stoned in there LOL! I make it a rule ;).

Plus, don't worry about high air temp, its serious when your res is hot, and the medium is hot. Add co2 and you're money with the heat.

But I thought co2 was for closed rooms? It would still work in a tent?
Yeah it will work in a tent, you just treat it like a sealed room. I have an environmental controller that turns off my 2 ventilation fans when it deploys CO2 and vice versa when the temp rises. That way the CO2 is not venting outside the tent where it will be wasted.

P.S. - Secret Jardin tents are the shit!

man make sure your aircooled hood is taped up with the silver tape those seals that come with it. are crap.. and will leak heat like a sob.
