Hmm...Tips and tricks...well, I soak my rockwool in pH'd water overnight, set to 5.5 since the pH of rockwool is high...They say you only need to soak like 15 minutes, but I do it overnight...I've had nearly 100% success with cloning in rockwool over the course of my last 50 or so, but sometimes the clones take up to 3 weeks to root, depending on the strain...I'm no expert, but when I take cuttings, I slice the stems at a 45 degree angle, trim off some of the larger leaves, dip them in regular water, then into some cheap cloning powder I picked up at HD for 5 bucks, and into the rockwool...Sometimes the hole on the rockwool is too big, so I just poke the clone into the rockwool itself or make a smaller hole...
Then I spray them each once with water, put in a dome with vents in the top to promote air flow, and THE MOST IMPORTANT THING...I don't fuck with them for at least a week...I check to see if the rockwool needs to be moistened, of if they look REALLY dry, I spray lightly, but I don't check for roots or jostle them around or move them or anything...I just let them sit and root, and they've all rooted for me so far...lol...I just flowered my potential mother though, so I'll be taking my next cuttings off a flowering plant, and thats gonna make them harder to root, but it's an easy process, really.
Today I might use a product called KLN, made by DynaGro...It's supposed to be for taking clones, so we'll see if it speeds up the process...Maybe I'll take a couple cuttings normally and a couple with the KLN to see if it effects my method at all.
Hey, newest update looks great! A couple of my plants are just ahead of yours, but mostly we're right on the same page! Truely, beautiful job, my friend!! All your shit is looking fly!
