Yeah that thread is how I re-stumbled back onto round 2 of yours. I've been glued. There was another cat that helped me out with some ideas for my 12x12x7 room setup. I really want to water cool everything since it will use less btu/power than a portable ac. But the draw back from me is that I'm not in a good situation for a 1-2hp chiller. I was thinking of grabbing a 1/4 chiller for my 9 site ucdwc setup and another 1/4 to chiller to cool a 55 gal drum in which I would plumb in the manifold for my (4) 600 watt hoods + hydrogen. Overall, I might just have to do a chiller for my res and just say F it and put a portable ac in the room and keep it simple. I will have to pay more in electric costs but it may be a good start until I get my handles down.
yea man, that 1/4hp chiller aint gonna cool those lights. maybe 2 of them max. i have a 2hp chiller and 3 1000w, 2 co2 generators, the nutrient res and cooling for 2 tents and i am at capacity. i couldn't put another light on my system. plus, the big mistake people make is they think if they water cool everything they don't need and a/c. water cooling removes the heat from you lights, dehumidifier, reservoir, co2 generator, etc... but you still gotta cool the room. i just added another ice box and i use that with a controller and it works great for me. either way you need some sort of cooling for the room.

Top Shelf system you got there. Great use of water cooling. Deff be lookn forward to seeing more...

thanks. for sure man. stay tuned and watch me fumble through my first grow. i'll probably nuke a few plants along the way and may wak up with a swimming pool in my tent one day but i'm gonna have some fun for sure.

those things look awesome. i've never seen them before. do you still need to get a chiller with it or is that the chiller as well?
Yah one chiller running into a 55gal drum and all the cooling lines going to your res tanks and the heat exchanger.

gotcha. so it's a water cooled air handler basically. nice. you ever check out that water cooled grow rooms thread? that dude uses hydro innovations and chillking too. he showed me some pics of his setup, pretty sick. chillking built him a 12hp chiller with dual reservoirs & pumps inside. one reservoir is kept at 45 degrees for the air handlers and the other reservoir is kept at 60 degrees for the manifold lines that go to the co2 generators, reservoirs, and a the water cooled dehu he's got in his drying room. he had to do dual reservoirs cause if he brought the same water as his air handler into his room he would have crazy condensation. bro, that was the sickest system i have ever seen. he had everything controlled by a crazy looking agrowtek controller that actually had dual zone controls. i guess the owner of agrowtek specially made it for him. the thing controlled both his air handlers, both co2 generators, the dehumidifiers on both his air handlers, and a ton of other shit. he has that room dialed in.

hey guys, here with a saturday morning update. went into the tent this morning to take the top off the clone tray and get some fresh air in there for 5 minutes. snapped a few pics.

here are some shots of my moms after i hacked them up yesterday. i left quite a few sites on each one so they should be fine.

i was able to get a few clones off these two cheese plants. these are the ones that are totally stunted. still not sure why they haven't bounced back but if all goes well with these clones then i am going to turn 2 of them into moms and flower these two just to see if i can get anything.one is clearly stronger than the other but they both are drastically smaller and more stunted than the 2 power plant moms.

i also wanted to get some opinions. how often should i be watering my clones right now? i soaked the rockwool cubes yesterday and then let them drain a little. i also misted the plants before putting the dome on top. i use a little clonex in my water. on the bottle it says to water colens every other day. i have heard some people say they don't water for the first 5 days. what do you guys think? also, when i water should i just spray them or should i actually water the rockwool cubes? thanks guys.

Spray the leaf's and let the rockwool almost dry out. I dont water for about 5 days unless it seems dried out.
GL.
Still wanking to your setup. LOL

i just mist my clones everyday and i always make sure the rookwools feel a little damp almost dry really(because you want the roots that are starting to grow to spread out and search for a drink)always worked for me. nice setup you got going will be watching good luck

Yo Nugz. Good to see the journal back up and running. +Rep for not bailing on RIU. Thanks for the signature idea. Can't believe I never though of that. Get out the crayons!!! :-P

Just want to say thanks nuglets and phillip for all the water cooling info! Make for some planning on my part :)

haha philly, no problem man. i saw someone else with it and it kinda just made sense. draws peoples eyes right to your signature. where am i going? all the other forums are disorganized and have like 1/10 of the knowledge as riu has. i can't be running around between 2-3 forums, got too much other stuff to do. see ya around man.

p.s. got those pics you emailed. that is crazy!!! can't believe you guys do electrical installations like that. real cool man.

thanks hellraizer, i appreciate all your help. gotta give the water cooling credit to phil though. he's the one who taught me.

i have been looking at those under current systems you mentioned. i always thought those were just rdwc systems but they look way cool. supe oxiginated water and it looks like you only use half the nutes from what i have read so far. still doing some investigation and research but i like what i see so far. plus they are fairly simple to DIY. pvc, pumps, buckets, net pots, couple t-ball valves and fittings, float valve, etc... real cool. you have any experience with them?
