p.s. got those pics you emailed. that is crazy!!! can't believe you guys do electrical installations like that. real cool man.
Thanks Nugz, crazy thing is I actually like building rooms more than I like running them. I love tinkering with ideas and seeing how things will work most efficiently. Got a couple projects on the burners right now. Got tired of af researching nutrient feeding systems that were like $15,000 for some pvc and fitting so I'm drawing up one now and looking into it. Also, working on the electrical schematics for installing those UPS power conditioning battery back ups I was telling you about. The same ones I have in my houses. I'll keep you posted.

I've been looking into those Under Current Systems too. They look fairly low maintenance and I love the idea of that much oxygen being supplied to the roots. Send me any cool info you find. I haven't found any threads here on it.

Yea, I've been looking into them too. Those bigger systems need like 120-200 gallons of water. I've read a lot that says that you only need to change the water out ever 20 days or so. That the high oxygen levels and water movement allow you to do this. I've got flood tables and I change my reservoir 1 a week. Also interested to see if they have the same troubles with algae in those sytems.

With a chiller and good air you should be fine, but i use bennys to combat bactiria!
What beneficials are you using? I read a lot that beneficials are no good in hydro setups. I control my res temps and use hygrozyme. I still get algae that pops up every now and then but for the most part I don't see it. I'd be a little worried about any hydro setup that you only change the res every 3 weeks. I guess testing it is the only way to find out.

lol, i can tell you like building from the pics you sent. that place is the sickest room/op i have ever seen. if you get the nutrient system feeder setup you'll barely ever need to go there. haha. just watch it on your computer and change things with that controller setup you got.

i am real interested in under current too. i'll let you do it first and work out all the bugs then just get all the info and tips from you like i did with the chiller...

very "COOL" room you got, im subed. were do you have your chiller? and how much noise/heat does it make?
hey man, thanks for stopping by. i have both of my 8x8 tents inside of a heavy equipmet storage space off of my workshop. most of my equipment is on jobsites so i have plenty of room in there. i placed both tents side by side against an exterior wall. i build a concrete pad on the other side of the wall about 4' high to keep my dogs from getting to it. i placed the chiller on top of the pad. i also wired a weatherproof 240v plug on the wall. then all i had to do was drill 2 1" holes in the wall to pass the chiller lines through and into the veg tent. i then sealed around the holes with silicone (i'm super anal and love perfection). so the chiller is outside and the reservoir and pump are inside my veg tent. you can have your reservoir and pump outside too but then it becomes a lot less efficient because your reservoir is being warmed by outside temps which are 80-95 here all year round almost. around 75 -80 at night. by having my res in the tent my chiller actually only runs about 50% of the time. i would say the chiller is no louder than the condensor for a mini split a/c unit. the whole fan technology is basically the same. if you are standing right behind it you will feel the heat being blown away over the exhanger coils just like with an a/c. the chiller i have can also be stuck into a window like an a/c. sounds and looks the exact same from the outside and gives you a hello of reason to black out the window.

hey guys, back woth an update.

went in the tent today to take the dome off the clones so they could get some fresh air. wasn't sure if they were going to need a watering today but the dome still had some condensation on it when i went in the tent and the rockwool cubes are still a little moist to the touch. i'm going to see how they tomorrow and maybe water then. the mommies are making a nice recovery from their hacking the other day.

so, two days ago i sprayed the bottom of my mother plants with some diluted h2o2 to see if that helped with the white "fungi/bacteria" issue i seem to be having. i got recommendations from several people that this should eliminate the problem. i checked on them today and this does not seem to be your average fungi! this sucker fed on that h2o2 like it was bloom nutes. still not sure what i am going to do. do you guys think i should spray it with a diluted bleach?

That's some FUNKY looking stuff. I wouldn't automatically assume that it's bad if it doesn't smell but DAM!!! No advice Nugs but I would think that a diluted bleach solution would only harm your plants and that stuff doesn't seem to be harming them yet. Just my opinion.

Clones look great!

Looks like you squeeze the excess water out the of 1 inch delta blocks. You destroy air pockets when you do this, try shaking them out a bit instead. (sorry if what i assumed was wrong, just trying to help)

thanks for the advice. makes sense to me. i tried washing them out for a while beforehand to get rid of the extra powder and pieces of rock. i left them in a 5 gallon bucket with the hose running. they got banges around a little there too.

yo hellraizer (or anybody). doing some research. what is the difference between bubbleponics, dwc, rdwc, and under current? under current and rdwc look like the same thing. are they?

i can't tell if it's me or that i am missing something but under current systems look SO easy to make. buckets, lids, net pots, grommets, pvc, couple pvc fittings, 1 water pump, 1 air pump, air stones, way to chill reservoir. Is this really it?
