chur bro, thanks for sharing your thoughts on my grow, appreciate it.

Ye they were pretty ladies, never mind , I just couldn't keep the humidity down, we hit the slopes for a coulee days. Checked them wen I got back, and had a really good look and spotted just one with it so far.

the clones are going strong and there from those same ladies. hopefully by the time there in flower, we should be getting into spring-summer, so the humidity shouldn't be that bad.

I got a seedling going from my old man who reckons its from some good smoke, he's pretty old-school. said it was the kronic lol. Anyway its definitely a indica, looks ok so far, big fat leaves, can't wait to see what its gonna be like.

Hey, I have been mucking around making the new batch of soil for next grow, similar to coots mix, should be using it in a years time fingers crossed. The smoke from the last grow has been amazing, had about half an ounce of mold so didn't lose too much. Got just under a pound, which has been my best with little popcorn. Made some rosin too, which was pleasing to do and have for the first time.

I have found a place to source good amendments in nz, similar to build-a-soil. If any one has any suggestions on some amendments that's not in coots mix, that I could add to enhance his mix would be good.

Here's the current grow in 1st week flower.

So I've added biochar and flaxseed meal to my mix. I haven't started mixing yet, as my compost and EWC are still not ready.

I had some thrips attack me this round, I hadn't added any Karanja or neem meal to my top dress. I added some about a month ago and purchased some predator mites(Tetranychus urticae). seems to have stifled them for now but will bye more predators and pre-empt them next time. Not too much damage, but a lesson learnt.

As you can see the gelatos are short and stout, but the seed the ol man gave me is sativa I'm guessing.
Some nice big buds on that one, we shall see what comes of it in the next couplee weeks.

Probably not a good idea to have the soil exposed like this, but I'm just starting my cover crop, and keeping the top soil wet with a sprayer. just using water. Also you can see the tube the predators came in.

I think in Part 2 he briefly speaks about cause of infestation and general concept on fixing it.
That’s probably the best bit of info I’ve seen on living soil. Really appreciate it. I had to watch both the vids back to back. I can see a lot of my problems relate to watering. I use blumats which have been running ok, I thought anyways, guess I’m gonna have to rethink the way I do it. The chart with soil moisture anaerobic/aerobic that relates to mites, thrips and knats is very interesting.
Churr bro for that.

Lately been running into issues with my grow, had thrips return but seem to have them under control. Probably be the last run in these totes, I didn't put much aeration in(maybe 10% perlite and coco all up). Their growing so slow compared to all the other grows, I think mite be grow 5 or six now. Even though the soil is damp, I cant dig my hand in there its so compacted.

In the meantime, I've had to make......a sort of fill in medium. I don't wanna use or buy(just compost) any more stuff to put in this. And I don't wanna use the amendments or compost that is set aside for my next no-till grow(its all still breaking down).

I have
-coco
-homemade EWC
-pumice(not using perlite)
-peat moss
-store compost
-some fertilizer that was for vege garden but never really used.

Most likely gonna do this for two grows and hopefully by then my soil for no-till should be sweet az.
Here's some fertilizer that I have, can anybody suggest what to use and not from what I have, hopefully this will be enough.
5gal plastic containers.

so far so good with the mock up soil, but for some reason the jack herer seems like a dud, its just growing so much slower than the rest. Same soil as the rest in the tent ,any suggestions?
thanks.

Chur fellow growers, having some leaf twist on some of my ladies,Jack herer is the worst.
Got these girls under a 200w cfl and 300w led, in a 3x3, moved the lights higher a couplee days ago ,thort they might be too close. The other 3 have improved but not Jack. I don’t ph water but my other tent runs in un-phd water and never had a leaf twist problem. All the soil is made from the same batch, I’ve looked for bugs also and there clean,so it’s a bit of a head scratcher.
