A proper full melt dry sift tutorial. This time the right way.

I have to try that one, I usually let it dry and then put it back in a jug of water to have the leaf matter float so that the resin can be scooped.
The quality is very rarely bubbly but very good for edibles

Just once. It's been the same since around March.

French, the 'u' is micron measurement, not sure why it's a U though lol.

That's why I dig my method.. no 'cleaning' to it.. just the one quick scuff and poof. ~99% ish. All the stalks for the most part and green matter never make it through, it's a trip.

If anyone cares/is interested i'm doing 30x36" now for harvest time.. gives quite a bit extra room to work. Still wood frames to help cut down on static. Cheers guys..

Your actually wrong, solventless is the way of the future. Collectives are deciding to either carry solvents or to not and some of the biggest collectives are straying away from BHO.

c02 extracts can also be sketchy if not done right.

The way of the future will be decided by the laws that are going into effect. They are raiding bho makers houses daily because the masses don't know how to take proper precautions nor do they even care.

If you don't own, run, or associate with the businesses than you probably shouldn't speak for them. Especially when your bias is based on nothing more than a preference.

but what I meant is that I believe it will still be in the market 10 years from now
and will be safer and more regulated than it is currently

Im not being biased or speaking for other businesses im just being open minded to the situation, sorry if im coming off that way
 
Texas got it right I think, there is aspect of extract that are unique and in 10 years extraction will most certainly be at the level of the perfume industry.
 
There will always be the professionals making oils, but the little guy is gonna get pushed out due to cost. That's where us real hash makers come in ;)

Totally depends on the stuff going through the screens.. with very high end/frosty indoor i've run twice and seen close to 10%.

Most people on average will probably see closer to 4-6%. Yield has a lot to do with how dry the product is as well.. it yields better when the stuff is absolutely poof dry.. a lot of stuff I run across isn't that dry, and as a result yields for shit.. imagine trying to do icewax with no ice.. kinda the same idea.. it just wouldn't turn out properly..

Been following and reading this thread on/off for a while, tried a small batch through 100u screen, got some fire and clean, seemed like low yield though (~5%). Wondering if more experienced members have a screen size recommendation that balances quality/yield better than 100u. Have about 3oz to run, any thoughts appreciated. Cheers.

Just a single screen? If it came out nice then awesome.. I use 2 for my standard setup, but both of them are in the ~200u range.. much coarser actually.. Maybe since you have that screen, try grabbing a ~160-180u as well and then use both just like I do?

That way you're only having to pop for one screen and could probably make it work well..

Thanks, sounds good, grab one coarser screen and run them through both, should end up with a couple of grades. The one screen worked fine, very fine but after running it through I used a spatula to mound it and no shortage on power, just little yield. Thanks again.

So theoretically I could dry sift some dank indoor get 5-10% then. Still be able to do a different extraction method and still get a decent yield?

Yup it's actually pretty common. A lot of people do a quick dry sift, then take the material to make bubble hash, and then once again take the material and make cannabutter or they will dry it up and do a butane blast. Pretty cool.
