A statement to all you dissing cfl's!!

also can you post some damn pictures. that first plant was pathetic. Ive had bigger nugs than that in my trim son!
Just if your gonna make a statement like you did. back it up. I use cfls and i would like to see what there capable of. If your on the 4th harvest with the same system im assuming you have it under control? And assuming you have more than one picture.

I understand his frustration.. Even though that pic he posted was pretty sad.. I feel bad for unhealthy plants, dunno why..

But, I see people post pics of beautiful buds that they are obviously 100% happy with (myself included) just to have people shoot them down for using cfls. I know if I was using a HPS that I would have fatter buds but quite frankly, I am impressed with what cfl's will do and they work good enough for me. I think the weed will get me high and that's what matters the most.

If it tastes good, smells good and works, it's better then a bag of schwag.

5 150w clfs and you produce 23 ounces wet? haha that's not even gonna be 6oz dry, with 750w of cfls for 4 plants when you could have you used a 400w hps and yielded more. too time consuming and a waist of money

Once again, I'm glad its working out for you and that you didn't come at me with a pile of insults. But it basically boils down to keeping your temperatures in check, right? A lot of the other arguments still make no sense, other than the fact that you're happy with it; Which is just fine with me.

Comparing your power bills is apples and oranges unless usage was broken down by each circuit and you could single out the grow room. Any way you slice it, 1200W is almost a 50% increase in usage over 840W and double that of 600W. If the bulbs are all plugged into one circuit right now, an HID which uses less than 840 watts would be fine.

The lumens from the CFLs don't just add to each other, it's just a measurement of brightness. Even if they did just add up mathematically it would put you at 57,200. A 400 puts out about 50,000 at half the power while a 600 puts out about 80-90,000 while using just over 70% of the power you're using now. I can find a bare 400W HPS ballast online for $65, bulbs for $12 a mogul base for $6 and a batwing reflector for $20-25. If you're handy at all it'll go together easily.

All these folks arguing. It's hilarious how many of you call eachother names and such. What's the point of having a Marijuana growing forum if there's nothing to learn but how to avoid assholes arguing? That guy uses CFL lights, and that guy uses HPS lights. Big whoop. We're all here to grow good herb. Some have the means and experience, others don't. If you want to argue go look at some political threads and talk about immigration or something.

CFLs are fine for the most part. HPS can get you more in terms of yeild, but it is also aided by you having to upgrade your grow space for ventilation and exhaust etc just to accomodate using that light medium. I've been growing the past 18 months or so using CFL and I've been impressed by what I've got out of it. Admitedly, I would use HPS for flowering if it wasn't a closet grow as the one criticism I do have with CFL is that your plants can drag their feet a bit during late flowering, but it's not something that is a detriment to the quality of the bud. Not in my experience anyway.

tell me where u get 150watt bulbs for 5.95 i would like to know i have been way over paying for my 125watt bulbs then. i can tell by the way your bud looks that is the shit i punch my friends in the face for trying to sell. any one can plant a seed and grow, hell u can flower under one 40 watt bulb, but the end product wont be worth anything.

and that they will cfl's will grow sum nice buds and produce a good yeild.. i have had a friend grow with them in a fridge that i set up for him and he did very well.

Thats ONE nice bud...how bout the rest of it? I can show you 5 like that on one of my plants via hps. Im not hating, but most of those who bash CFLs have used them before and if you get truly serious about your grow you WILL end up with an HPS set up one day. I have grown for over a decade using all types of shit, half the shit today wasnt even invented 10 years ago. I have tried it all and since I have reptiles I keep up with lighting technology. So to sum up my two cents, good idea for a post, but to blast on hps growers is a tough talk to back up. HPS is the closest to natural sunlight, and if your hobby grow takes you further, you will save up to get the good set up. A 400 watt hps will get you a sweet yield and my utility bill went up 17 $ opposed to your 28$ increase and 53 bulbs. Now I run a G set up and my utils still arent out of control and my old 600w is for veg.

What ever works for you is fine by me.

Here's my theory regarding this. Regardless whether it's prior experience or a current grow, we all can agree that; like new parents. To them, the pride they have inevitably results in them seeing their child as being the most beautiful amazing gift from god. Personally, I kid you not. Nurturing my plants and watching them grow does just that to me. Regardless of the amazing bloomed out gals I see on this and other sites, none compare to mine. That said; my growing technique is top fucking notch! Being critical and questioning the validity of my pride will piss me off.

I've acted just like this guy, however it's been within threads. So I thoroughly understand what he is experiencing and why he's lashing out.

I'm hoping that like the CFL section, the admin's implement a LED section as well.

note: when in between grow's, I'm not checking out my own pics from prior grows. No. I'm checking out your BUD PORN.. ........ hoping mine will look as good as yours.

once again, why is 9 oz not enough for me every 8 weeks,,i will always use cfl. it accomidates me perfectly

Learning to be self sufficient and growing our own SHOULD instill pride.

I'm damned proud of what my brother and I have been able to do to pull off the kind
of quality bud that we produce. Quantity? Heck we'll leave that to the pros.
