AACT question

Hi guys,

My question to you guys is if my AACT will go bad. The recipe I am using calls for 5 cups earthworm castings, 5 teaspoons of Alaskan fish emulsion, 5 teaspoons of molasses, and a 1/2 cup of food for the microbes, all mixed into a five gallons of distilled water in a 5 gal bucket with an air stone. How long will the tea last if I keep it aerated via the air stone. I dont wanna use the tea if its ganna hurt my plants but I dont wanna waste the tea. Any info will be greatly appreciated with some rep+.

Thanks

If you're brewing 5 gallons at a time you want to ensure you have an air-pump that is powerful enough. Ideally you would at least have a dual-output pump which accommodates two air stones that produce course bubbles (not too fine or they damage microbes). If you don't have sufficient aeration the microbes you want to multiply are not going to do very well and you could easily end up with an anaerobic brew. It will start to smell like sulfur, eggs, sewage, sour or rotten in general which is a good indication it is no good to use.

Otherwise, start out by brewing smaller batches. Teas can also be diluted before applying. You could use more molasses as well (blackstrap) up to a tablespoon per gallon. Also you mentioned a half cup of "food for the microbes"... what exactly would that be?

You should use it as soon as it is ready, or at least don't let it sit un-aerated. I have heard of people keeping it in the fridge for a few days. Personally I wouldn't keep it anywhere if I could help it, just use it or keep it aerating.

its mean You need them to Be able to have an Element Mastered...

So,They aren't necesary if you don't want to master the element.

After a tea is done brewing and/ or stopped aerating. it has about 6 hours til the microbes go dormant and / or die off. Molasses is food for microbes. Kelp feeds fungi. After 3 days the tea is protozoa dominant and full of nitrogen cyclers. Imo do not aerate for more than 48 hours.
