Barry Cooper recommends those pre-paid credit cards for buying equipment online. No paper trail to lead back to you if they decide to subpoena the hydro store or seedbank. Although I think he is nuts in his recommendation to consent to a vehicle search if you hid the stash properly, I thought that one piece of advice was killer. I don't want to have to send a m.o. and wait for it to clear or get lost when buying beans. Now I can just use a pre-paid and nothing on my bank records to link me to the purchase.

Sure, but they can be used anywhere. I can use it to buy groceries with it if I want. So if I'm planning on buying $140 worth of seeds, there will be no problems using the other $60 on a $200 card at Kroger or Walmart.

You can buy one of these with an amount from $25 to $500 on it without any personal information required. put all your money in a swiss bank account. that way your only giving a id number and no one knows who you are and the goverment cant seize or freeze your assets because they are in switserland!!!!
I dont see how having a pre-paid visa would be a good idea at all.. ITs just another way of tracing money and transactions. Use the cash you make to buy non-essential products ie booze, cigs nice food and pay cash. Do a small shop for need only groceries and use card. If anyone gets sus the will go straight to your bank account transactions and see if there is a) an unusual amount of deposits or b) not enough withdraws or spending. You will most likely be caught this way during tax time. If the tax office is sus about your cash flow they will audit you and thats just as bad as inviting the police over. Dont do anything silly come tax time to try and get a bigger return. Stay under the radar. More banks more evidence.

Best thing to do is only keep cash. Pay for everything with cash and dont use your real name anywhere, also dont keep any receipts. If you want to buy a house or expensive car(or any other item which you need to register) have someone else buy it in their name (with a legitimate income) and put you on the title also(shared). Make sure its someone you trust(family member, etc..) if your renting keep the house in someones elses name. if that cant be done or you are scared to keep all cash and want to make the money legal, you will have to find someone to wash it for you through a bussiness, or you can start your own, any type will do. I myself like to spend the money I make so i dont have to worry about hideing it, and there is a chance it may end one day so make it as fun as possible. If you do want to hide money cast it into cinder blocks with cement and bury it somewhere that will never be unearthed. Dont forget about foreign banks also. And money orders. BE SMART. as for buying cars with cash, get it used. They wont notice the shit you buy unless there watching you already.

Cash Transaction Reports (CTRs) have to be filed with the IRS on any cash transaction of $10,000 or more and the rule does not only apply to banks. The rule applies to "anyone involved in a trade or business" not just banks.
IRC, Section 6050
Report of Cash Payments Over $10,000 Received in a Trade or Business -Form 8300: Filed by persons engaged in a trade or business who, in the course of that trade or business, receive more than $10,000 in cash in one transaction or two or more related transactions within a twelve month period.
Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are required to be filed by some businesses on transactions of as little as $2,000 or transactions that aggregate to $2,000. SARs can be filed by ANY business that has reason to believe something fishy is going on for transactions of $5,000.
Depositing $10,000 in a foreign bank account over the course of 12 months will trigger a CTR too.
Tossing cash around buying things you don't have the reported income to be able to afford WILL get you busted eventually.

We can maybe take lessons from the Friday Night Bank Robber. In spite of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars, he reported much if not all of his 'income' as gambling winnings.
There are other ways to launder money using casinos but IMO, having a real job or a legitimate business front is the best way to launder money.
