so yesterday i took my lights down and moved all my plants out of my closet so that i could clean my growing area, however once i had all the lights out, i turned on my closet light and forgot to turn it back off. so at 12 o clock last night when my cfls timer shut off , my overhead closet light was still on, i just noticed about 20 minutes ago that i forgot to flip the switch to turn my closet light off last night. has anybody else had this happen to them?, i plan to continue with 12/12 and make sure my closet light switch is off, but is this going to cause a reversal of sex/ hermaphrodism:?

I did it once too because my timer was not working right. It happened for 3 days in a row and had no effect. I did turn my lights off for 48 hours. Just to be sure and reduce any stress threats. I dont know if the 48 hours worked but my plants went on to produce very well. it sucked because I take care of them durring the day and at night when the timer was to put the lights out I was already sleeping and did not notice until I went to the bathroom 3 nights later. I was so mad. I called the timer company and told them that because their timer failed when I was on vacation my house was robbed and they sent me a coupon for a free new one. The new one was better than my old one. LOL.... I guess you have too take the good with the bad.

I would do the same avier if i had forgoten ligths on for 3 days. The plants are flowering because of the 12hrs night cycle. So i guess that what stress them more is less hours of darkness, rather than less hours of light..

I had the same problem (left 18 hrs open instead of 12) and i was wondering if i should extend night cycle for 3-4 hours just to be sure they get they "12 hours light off" they need for a normal bloom and then go on normally 12-12..
