Adding humidity from outside tent using active intake and humidifier in a storage tote w/passive intake

Hi, have a question for anyone who may have tried what i'm thinking of trying. Mainly because i'm not sure it will work. Ok, here goes. I have my tent in a lung room that isn't insulated perfectly. Not that it is a major problem, but the lung room is big enough that running a humidifier in the lung room as opposed to the tent wouldn't work very well, so i do have a humidifier in the tent. I am in early flower, and only need to add a bit of humidity, buy my humidifier on its lowest setting is still adding a bit too much (up around 60-65%rh), even while running a 4" AC infinity inline fan on intake, through a filter box, and a 6" AC Infinity inline fan exhausting to the outdoors at a 3 setting to get my canopy temp at or around 78°F. If i shut the humidifier in my tent off altogether, my humidity can plunge into the mid to low 40%rh range, and while i may desire that level of humidity later on in flower, i'd like to keep it to mid 50%rh for now. I am wondering if anyone has used a small to medium sized storage tote, with a small humidifier in it, with a passive screened intake on it, and output from the tote to the active intake to their tent. Hoping someone can say from experience or just knowledge of thermodynamics if this is a stupid idea, or a brilliant solution to up the humidity in my tent a small amount, smaller than the lowest setting on the humidifier presently in the tent.

Wouldn't the ac infinity cloudforge do that for you with the precision you need?

Normally yes, but my sensor or sensor output is fubarred, and can only run my AC Infinity Cloudforge at 25%:50%:75% or 100% using Vapor Mode as without the sensor working properly, Auto Mode won't work for me (display just flashes). I bought it third party, and not sure i can get any repair or warranty, so am just running it this way for now. May in future purchase Controller 69 Pro, or 69 Pro+, (cant afford atm) which i can then control the Cloudforge through it. At present, I only have Controller 67, which will only control two fans (intake and exhaust).

First step - you will get > RH just by putting open containers of water in the tent. The larger the surface area the better, so a baking pan would give you high evaporation. If you've got an extra fan, put it next to the container and aim the airflow over the top of the surface of the water.

If there's something faulty have you tried contacting them?

Its worth checking.

I started to one day, sent one email off. Then forgot about it, got sidetracked, but yes, I should see what they might be able to do for me. I think I may have messed it up myself, as the sensor connects right on the front of the unit, and it's bent a bit. I must have, bumped it, or dropped something on it, not sure.

Id be concerned about mold forming on walls of lung room if you are humidifying the lung room especially if its a bedroom, before i fitted a dehumidifier in my lung room i would see mold trying to form on the ceiling .
The spiderfarmers humidifier can sit outside of the tent and has a hose to run into the tent , they work well i have one for each of my tents.

Yes, I have cloudforge from AC Infinity. Same idea. It just adds a bit too much. It seems like Delps8 idea with open containers is what I'll try. Cheap and easy. I have a fan beneath the canopy I can aim at it.

I even have one. But, it's on my Koolatron thermoelectric drying doomahickey. Can't spend the money atm. Tariffs gonna bite soon.
