Advantage V. disadvantage CFL's

Yeah, I have them but I'm more of a visual and tactile person. I can do it by looking at pics or diagrams. I want to put cfl's (2 - 125w) in my mother/clone tent, which is a darkroom dr40.......2ft L x 2ft W x 4ft H. I'll use the 250w hps for flowering for more light penetration with maybe 2 125w cfl's added in the other tent....31.5in x 31.5in x 64in.

If you have pics with step by step, that'll be nice. If not, it's cool. You've been a real help already

The other thing that works is to cut a 5 gallon buck in half, then cut an end for it, round or a triangle. Cut a hole in the wood end for the bulb. that works either way V or H..I'll still what I can do.

Home Depot has them. It should say some where on the label what rate it is. What are you doing with the others?

I am sending them all into flower all together in about a week.

I picked some up there recently but the only rateings I see are the Lumes (900) watts (60) but maybe I am missing somehting some where. i do not see a K rating on them....

The one I have seperated and sent into flower is a hermie, I just want some back up seeds just in case. I know not the best method, but better than hacking her/him down I figure. Thanks for your input - greatly apprecated.

Ok what has everyone been using to plug the cfls into...i have one of those little screw things that plugs the bulb straight into an electrical chord. I was gonna put a y socket thingy attatched to this as well. It works as far as i see but im worried about any fire safety issues. I know the lights have a ballast but im not sure what i can plug a bunch of them into or even one 65wat

i think the cheapest way is to get pigtail sockets and wire them your self. Now, if you can find them, and I'm looking too, is those construction sockets. They have slots in them that the wire gets crimped into, similar to those 3m blue wire splicers..You know, for clipping a wire into another without cutting and splicing. Any way, with the con set up it uses 2 strands of 12g. You may have seen them on big con. sites usually strung up .
