That's true. Ventilation is complication and harder to control temperature and they use more energy too. Actually tho.... The UVB lights are not a replacement to HPS. They are a different light spectrum.
The low KELVIN CFLs are like 2300 to 3500, and are the red spectrum, the bulbs are cream colored and often called soft white. These are the best for FLOWERING if you stick to CFLs. The 4500K to like 6500K are the real bright white lights of a blueish spectrum that work well for VEGETATING. I wouldn't go fully to one kind when in different stages. For example with 4 CFLs: I'd go one BLUE, one UVB, and two RED in the FLOWERING stage. For VEG: one RED and Three blue.
