I will get pricing on these nozzles. I am sure they are the cheap version (lower price and or possibly lesser quality) of Hart Environmental nozzles

I would love to know more about this one, perhaps you are familiar with it atomizer?

Here is a pic of the design in action

FEI You can get much cheaper hydro equipment i.e. ballasts, fans, atomizers, tents, etc. from Alibaba, but just remember to order only from companies offering an escrow service. I got burned 2 years ago trying to buy some quantum style ballasts from some hack in Asia. Since then I have purchase a few things through Alibaba but never without an escrow service. You can find direct from Manufacturer/distributor Quantum and Lumatek digies and some lower quality digies as well. There is a company out there selling the quantum under the new name Guru I believe. It is green and you can get it direct here.

Just type in lumatek or quantum and you will find a plethora of ballasts.

Anyone know how I can post a link to a pdf file? I just got pricing from a hydro gear distributor and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the costs. This supplier has numerous items from ballasts to tents to LEDs.

Wow, I love technology- those new ultrasonic atomizers look pretty alien-like! Atomizer told me most piezo-electric ultrasonic atomizers make a mist that's too small, however these seem to be the opposite. The 70um ones look the best bet although I think if they had a 50um model it would be better. And the power consumption is low considering apparently they do not use compressed air. Only problem I see is the price range shows $4k/set (and I figure that's the price for only one set). There is 100 per set however, so the price per piece is relatively cheap. Perhaps they can send a few test pieces over and we can try them?

Kinda looks like they just let the atomized mist cascade down as opposed to the traditional plume, if so we'd have to get creative in placement for good coverage.

Can you not just copy and paste the link in the thread for the .pdf source? If it's not too huge perhaps you can take some screenshots and post them as pics? Otherwise you can upload to datafilehost.com and place the link here... (Yet another handy thing Atomizer privelaged me to)...

I've been getting pricing on all items for the last hour. The electric ultrasonic atomizers run 800-1500/set. The Hart equivalent nozzles are no longer manufactured by the company. And the killer problem on the hydro supplier is the shipping. 230 us for 2 ballasts by air. However the ballasts range from 50-100 us depending on wattage. If you were to order a pallet by sea it should be cheaper.

Well, it got my interest, here is some further info: http://www.sono-tek.com/ultrasonic-nozzle-technology/
I tend to think the description of the mist characteristics does not sound like what we want for our purposes- but you tell me what you think?
They do mention some "spray shaping equiptment" I'd like to mix new technology with ancient biology and see how that thing would work on my butt cheeks after a few cans of beans- lol...
Totally off-topic, but I got a packet of heirloom variety hungarian blue papaver somniferum poppies from the local healthfood store of all places. I am growing one in promix right now for fun- I think they are really beautiful plants. Have you ever tried or heard of anyone attempting to grow then in aero? It says they like lots of sun but soil temps in the 50's/60's so I thought my cooled chamber would be better than the soil here which is more like 80f... Apparently they are legal to grow as long as you don't slit the pods for the milky latex which is opium- dunno how they enforce that one- lol...

The atomizer I linked from Alibaba has a much higher flow rate in the video.

Hey Thump- sorry your having some bad luck... You can try using bleach as it's got more staying power than h2o2 and I think works better. Try adding around 6 drops per gallon or actually since you have an infection try 1ml per 2-3 gallons (there is on average 20 drops in a milliliter for reference, so that would be around 10 drops/gallon). It will kill your beneficial bacteria too, but it's better than the plants dieing. If you don't run organics then it's not a problem anyway as I don't and always add 6 drops per gallon as a preventative measure. Try to keep the nutes colder 60-65 is good to help stop the nasties from growing so quickly and it also will keep your dissolved oxygen higher. Also make sure you use regular ol clorox, not the scented version or any thick formula, etc... Keep us posted on how it works for you...

So I contacted relab and they do manufacture the Ultrasonic Atomizers. They run 52.00 each for both the nozzle and adapter housing in 303 SS. They just posted them on the website this morning. As always remember to order in NPT.

http://www.i-spraynozzle.com/en/Ultrasonic-Atomizer-427.html

I have ordered from them, they are legit. Shipping by air is expensive.
I don't see any data specifically regarding droplet size which is important- do you have any by any chance? They are really cheap however and look similar to the aerolife nozzles but about 1/5 the price. I thought you wanted to try the newest style electronic ones that don't use air... :) I'd love to see someone play around with one of those...

EFDL's are looking like the future of grow lighting IMHO.. 100,000 hour life, wide spectrum and very high lumen per watt.
Induction technology has been around for a long time. I wonder why it hasn't caught on if it's so great. You figure large warehouses would be using it everywhere, but I don't hear about that. I wonder if the claims are as good as they say. I can see how the bulbs will last longer, but not how it's so much more efficient with the understanding I have of induction technology. Atomizer might know more on the subject as it's in his realm of expertise. I'm just waiting for plasma to come down in price- then I might break down and grow with something other than the free halide that puts out the perfect spectrum and most lumens even from millions of miles away- imagine the energy that gives off when you see the dropoffs at just a foot or two from a man-made light... ;)

I'm not discounting EFDL's, just asking why it's not in widespread use unless the cost still outweighs the gains...

So Im thinking screw all the home built chambers, pick up a few used chest freezers on c-list for 100.00 a pop, line it with polystyrene sheeting (maybe not even necessary). Bypass the t-stat with one capable of maintaining a temp between 50-80. Drill some holes in the damn thing and throw some net pots and a few atomizing nozzles in it. I am seriously considering scrapping my flower chamber for a few of these chest freezers. They are already designed with a slight slope and drain plug that can be tied into a condensate pump. If you want to check your roots just lift the lid. Chamber temp is controlled with individual compressor units and I dont think the heat would be too much of an issue that a window ac couldn't manage it. I personally think the plants themselves can handle a much higher room temp as long as the roots are at a comfortable temp. In a grow op smaller than mine, trying a chest freezer would be a no brainer. No more chillers, no more ice baths, no worries about insulation, done and done.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this atomizer. Knowing you as well as I think I do, you probably have already been there and done that.

Hell, a manufactured grow chamber with an ac compressor and freon loop would be frickin awesome. Plug it in, kick it on, and watch the grass grow. My next project for sure.

The sales manager posted on the site because I requested it. It was just a quick listing. I would need to contact them for nozzle specs. I would imagine it is almost, if not, identical with the Hart nozzles for less than half the price.
