Do you think Biden is setting this up
So that he can drop
A bomb and kill em all once they make their first terrorist attack on US soil?
No, I think he seriously miscalculated the Afghan army holding the line in Kabul. The best he could do is own it, say he made a mistake, he will get the people out that should be and then let the Taliban make a mess of the country.

Except he didn’t take everyone, he left at least 2500 troops in strategic locations and the Taliban didn’t start taking over cities until Trump was long gone. The perception of strength and unpredictability Trump created in the Middle East, worked.

This is 1) on the Afghan military 2) on Biden and his administration. The week after Biden was inaugurated, it became his responsibility.

I personally think none of those insane crimes against humanity will occur with China investing Billions upon Billons .... it will be a bad look for the Chinese investing and building in a country that's ass backwards.... they will bring more stability than anyone has b4... Money talks
China already has they're own crimes against humanity, why would they wanna invest into a country when they are loosing billions themselves...

The West always gets it wrong. ALWAYS. I was in South Yemen in 1982, I think it was. South Yemen was an independent country then, yes it was Islamic but believe it or not there was a German brewery there, it was moving towards the 21st century. But the fundamentalist government of the North wanted to rule the whole country. And America backed THEM. Why? Because the Russians were building roads and bridges in the South, and officially it was a 'Marxist Islamist' state. COMMUNISM! RUSSIANS! STAMP STAMP SQUISH! So America would rather have primitive 6th century barbarians run a country than have the Russians helping out.

2500 is nothing. Strategic locations? More like the military moving company taking out hardware.

U.S. Completes Troop-Level Drawdown in Afghanistan, Iraq
Jan. 15, 2021

"There are now 2,500 U.S. service members in Iraq and 2,500 in Afghanistan. It is the lowest number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan since operations started there in 2001.

The reductions were longtime goals of the Trump administration.

The drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq follows the successful Iraqi military campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

"The drawdown of U.S. force levels in Iraq is reflective of the increased capabilities of the Iraqi security forces," Miller said in a written statement. "We have long anticipated that the force level required to support Iraq's fight against ISIS would decrease as Iraq's capability to manage the threat from ISIS improves. Our ability to reduce force levels is evidence of real progress."

The acting secretary stressed the reduction of American force strength does not mean a change in U.S. policy in the country or region. U.S. forces will continue to work with Iraqi security forces and forces from the anti-ISIS coalition to ensure the enduring defeat of the terrorist group.

Iraqi government officials know that ISIS remains a threat, and the presence of U.S. and coalition forces helps build Iraqi forces and deters the reconstitution of the terror network in the country, Miller said.

US military begins shipping equipment in Afghanistan pullout prep
July 12,
The U.S. military has begun shipping equipment and winding down contracts with local service providers ahead of the May 1 start of the final phase of its military pullout from Afghanistan, a U.S. Defense Department official said Thursday.

In February last year, the U.S. military began closing its smaller bases. In mid-April, the Biden administration announced that the final phase of the withdrawal would begin May 1 and be completed before Sept. 11.

Since then, the military has been shipping equipment and winding down local contracts for services such as trash pickup and maintenance work, the U.S. official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with briefing regulations.

While preparations are under way, troops likely won’t begin to depart for a few weeks, he said, adding that “we won’t see a coming down of the (troop) numbers” until remaining bases close.

In the short term, America will likely increase its troop presence in Afghanistan, the Pentagon said last Friday. The additional troops would be in Afghanistan over the coming weeks and months to help with what the herculean task of wrapping up 20 years of war.

While much of the equipment headed back to the U.S. will be shipped by air, the military will also use land routes through Pakistan and north through Central Asia, the Defense Department official said.

In a deal the Taliban signed last year with former President Donald Trump, the final U.S. withdrawal deadline was set as May 1. Under the agreement, the Taliban promised not to attack U.S. and NATO troops but they also later promised “consequences” if Washington defied the May 1 deadline.

we shall see...

"Our guarantees, our official statements ensuring that they will be no danger to their property, honor and life. That is our commitment...and they can see right now in the districts...all the people they lead their normal life. The schools are open. The offices are open. And the businessmen do their trade and business. So this is our practical example. So why they are terrified? They should not be terrified."

As harsh as this sounds I'm in the camp of "I don't give a fuck". Blame Biden. Blame whoever you want but it's not Biden, Obama's or trumps fault.

That country has existed much longer than the United States. Yet they can't figure out how to have a modern stable society. Their culture is fucked. Nothing is going to change until the people change.

We should have been out of there years ago. You can't fix what can't be fixed. The mindset of the population is not ready to be part of the modern world. Let them live like people lived 1000 years ago. That's apparently what they want.

Let them run their country as they will. If the people don't like it then let them rise up and risk their lives to change things. Not one single American should risk their lives to assist these people. We gave them 20 years. They failed. Time to go.

What a fucking mess. But there is nothing we can do. We can't stay forever. We gave them the tools to fight but they ran like cowards. Their fate was in their hands and they chose Taliban rule.
