AK testing facilities?

Nope, AK Green Labs also cushions their results so they are very inaccurate. They cushion every test about 40% than it actually is. They will lie through their teeth and tell you their cheap GC machine is "state of the art" and "within 1% accurate". I've asked them about what machine they use, and what credentials they have, but they will ignore you and just tell you how great their testing is without answering any questions.

Yeah i saw your thread about them. I recently graduated with a b.s in chemistry and would love to do testing for the cannabis industry up here but I'm have a really hard time finding anybody planning on opening a lab.

Its gonna be a tough licence get a test facility going. Its the least attractive of the businesses, however it would place that person very solid position into the market with few people to compete with.

-You are not allowed to hold any other licence if you are a test facility. 306.605 (c)

- Marijuana testing facility licence is required by MCB 306.605

-You have to prove you are proficient, by an accredited facility. (like UAA, UAF?) 306.625

Heres the hardest one. AAC 306.630 (B,1,2,3) Scientific Director.

(1) a doctorate degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university and have at least 2 years of post-degree laboratory experience;

(2) a master’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited
college or university and have at least 4 years of post-degree laboratory experience; or

(3) a bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited
college or university and have at least 6 years of post-degree laboratory experience.

With this being said, it is possible the owner of green labs simply does not have people to run it as defined under aac 306.630. Perhaps #3 is the most likely to run the lab... people with advanced degrees tend not to stay in Alaska.

Another possiblity is that the owner does not want to be excluded from the MJ market and he would like to verticaly intergrate into the MJ market, a testing licence would prohibit him from doing other activities like extraction or retail, it would be a conflict of interest.

This is going to be a HUGE stumbling block to getting retail to work if there are no testing facilities.. You cant sell anything until its tested.

hahahha.. OMG, just thought of this, my mom could run the lab.. She has an degree and has worked in all the hospital labs in the city.. Mainly as a patho/histo kinda work. Dont matter, she can run the place, just direct the "Techs" like a pharmacy does.

"Hey MA!.. Lets go test some weed!"..

You can also not fly with it, nor take it on a boat, so you must be able to reach the testing facility by road. Rural communites outside the road system will have no businesses as they won't have population base to support that many businesses.

Many ppl have flown within our state of Alaska with 1 ounce, it is possible and legal to do so even Alaska airlines will allow it you are legal to carry and travel with in the state with 1 ounce in your procession. Best to be informed before giving out information just a thought.

"
Can I travel with marijuana?

Federal laws make it is illegal to transport marijuana on ships, trains, and airplanes. Keep it legal and in Alaska."

Both boating and flying are federally mandated. Just because someone has done it does not make it legal.

Best to be informed before giving out information ;)

When speaking the laws nothing I've read rings true currently...... I've been given the right to have on my person 1 oz. Period loop holes all be it I've personally flown on Alaska airlines and carried on in my carry on bag it was check at entering gate area and I was able not only to keep it able to fly with it! They have no clear guidelines between what our state allows and what the federal doesn't in many area's while you quote the law what they in force are two different things. I'm not saying that someone who is trying to travel with intent to sell I'm speaking to those Alaskans who wish to have on there person 1 oz to travel to villages. We are allowed this right period. In formed I'am both read and in practices.

That looks much like a "grey" area I personally won't challenge yet, though I bet you will get different responses depending on the TSA agent involved.

I'll not try that until it's been figured out on court.
Probably just a matter of time.
